Walked in on a Tuesday night. Place was dead. Weird music, cheesy decor. Placed order and waited 50 minutes for cold, mediocre appetizers. When we complained we received attitude rather than an apology.

I had dinner here alone the other night because I'd eaten here with friends and it had been fine but nothing special -- seemed like a good place to go for an early, solo dinner. They were very nice but I ordered the fish special and the sauce was great but the fish wasn't, and then they charged me 23.99 for the special that had been priced as 18.99. Needless to say, I won't be going back.

Just had dinner at Bona Fides with a group of my friends on Friday night. Just picked this restaurant on a whim. It was great! It is a really cute place and the manager and waitress could not have been more pleasant. The food does take time to come out, but once it did, it was well worth the wait. Everything is freshly made that is the reason it takes time. I would definitely go back. What a great night out.

it was a birthday party of 11. they tried to charge us for drinks we didn't drink, it took over an hour after ordering to get our food, and they charged us $10 for a cake that we brought with us! if they were nicer about all of it would have been better, but every time we needed anything we had to practically beg for a waitress to help us. yes, the ambiance was romantic and nice, but for any large parties . . .STAY AWAY! and if you don't stay away, make sure someone sober counts up those drinks before you end up paying for more than you had and be prepared to eat a lot of stale bread while you wait for your food!

You need to go down a few steps to get in the restaurant but once you are in, the wonderful music, atmosphere and food makes it well worth it. Great find in the East village. Loved my grilled salmon and tasted the Filet Mignon that was amazing for the price. It felt very comfortable. Great for romantic evenings.

I went here a few weeks ago and it was truly a hidden gem. I was surprised to only find a few other couples in the place because the food was so delicious and at such a great price. The restaurant iteslf had a lot of charm - I really liked the setting. There is also a garden in the back that looks like it'd be great for warm weather. If you want great italian at a decent price then definitely stop by Bona Fides.

I have been here three times. Each experience was commendable. The food is excellent, atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the staff is helpful and the garden is lovely and quiet. In a city with lots of high-priced, loud, overrated restaurants, Bonafides is a real find. We plan to return again and again.
