    Service issues

Went to this really dingy place for lunch today. If the food and service is good...I could have overlooked the ambiance. For the lunch specials, along with the entree, they only serve 1 naan and a medium bowl of rice, no matter how many people sit at the table. We ordered extra naan and got charged for it. When I asked the manager, he told us in broken English that apparently it's their policy. The food was really below average....nothing special. The waiters can't speak English...I feel bad..but something should be good to make a place survive for this long. Walked out of the place without leaving a tip after the fiasco!

    Indian Feast

We were really in the mood for Indian - and found this place offering $29.99 Prix Fixe. We had tickets for the theatre, so decided to go early - 5:30. We were one of the first people there for dinner and were seated promptly. The service was just ok - not bad, but not great. But the food was very, very good. We had lots left over (too bad, if I was home I would have gotten a doggy bag!). The value was great - it's a four course meal - so we were glad we went at 5:30, because by the time we finished dessert and coffee it was about 7:30. It was a lovely meal, and I would recommend it if you are hungry and love indian. Also, the restaurant is quite beautiful inside.

    Great food, poor service

Went there around 7 this past Saturday, and while I was impressed with the food and decor, the service was not good. Rude and slow throughout the whole meal. Would never recommend.

    Poor service

A friend and I went to Bombay Palace before going to see a show. We arrived at 6:00 PM by 6:30 we had finished our appetizer and were awaiting our meal. At 7:20 we still had not received our meal and when we asked our waiter about our order, which was pretty simple (fish tikka (salmon) and lamb vindaloo) we were told it was coming right now. At 7:30 we left...without having had dinner. I was really disappointed, as I had high expectations for this restaurant. To the manager's credit, he did give us a card for a complimentary lunch but if they couldn't get us dinner in an hour and a half, who would take a chance on them while on lunch at work?

    Large party had great tme

There were 20 of us for a birthday party, 4 couples had just flown in from England where Indian food is extremely popular. The food was the best I have had in the U.S, we ordered an array of dishes to share, each was great. Service was very good considering our large number. Drinks upstairs first set the tone for a fabulous evening, can't wait to go back.

    Best Midtown-West Indian

This place rocks! Sure it's expensive compared to curry row down by Grammercy and the East Village, but it's average compared to other midtown restaurants. Seriously great tasting curries and bread. The only complaint I have is that the rice is not included. I never had bad service here; just the opposite, I find the service to be friendly and hospitable. My favorites are the lamb punjabi style, chicken tikka masala, and saag paneer. The drink selection is also quite extensive. Cheers!

    Amazing Indian Restaurant

We dined here on June 28th, and had quite a memorable meal. Two of us had the chicken korma (excellent), and two of us had the lamb vindaloo (they also said it was excellent). The service was impecable! I've read some reviews that the service was not so great, so they've always stepped this up. I felt like royalty, and can honestly say it was the best service I've ever had at a restaurant. They even put the food on my plate for me, which I've not seen at an Indian restaurant before. This place is a great location for after a stop at Top of the Rock as well.
