    First indian food experience

This was my first indian food experience and it was amazingly delicious! Despite the recent comments below, I experienced a nice wholesome environment and great food. to add- the service is exceptionally great. I never had indian food and was a little timid at first but now I can help but return countless times with my family and friends. I suggest that you all try the mango lassi, coconut poori and kashmiri chicken w a side order of vegetable samosas... delish! A lot of food and quite enjoyable.

    Give it a miss

I am a big fan of Indian food and quite easy to please but was terribly disappointed by this meal. I ordered the chicken biryani and a lamb curry dish. Both were inedible. I would never go back here again and am surprised it is still open for business.

    Poor Quality Indian Food

This is mediocre food. The sauces are diluted with water and the meat quality is severely lacking . I'm guessing it's on par with the quality of meat served in institutions (think high school cafeterias and collegiate dining halls). The only reason this place survives is that there is little to no competition for fast delivery/take-out Indian food in Chelsea. You best bet is actually the Indian hot bar at Whole Foods which is far superior in every way, though that isn't saying much...

As hospitable as hospitality can be

After going for dinner at about 7:30, the place was DEAD. We felt kind-of bad, so we went in. The waiters were very eager to serve us, (aka re-filling our water every time we took a sip.) But the food came pretty fast, and was good. The waiters did a suberb job at keeping us happy with our meal. The atmosphere is very quiet with traditional Indian music, but overall, nice Indian

    Cold Restuarant, Cold Waiter

We ate here on a Sunday night during freezing weather. The heat wasn't working and the restaurant was cold. The waiter, surly and uncaring told us it would be fixed tomorrow. The food is good value for the cost, and most dishes were good. Tandoori chicken was well spiced, and cooked properly. Breads were good. However, the saag paneer (spinach) which is something we order in every indian restaurant, was the worst we ever had. Hard to explain what went wrong, but it seemed to have a sour taste. We would go back when we wanted a decent inexpensive meal, but would skip the spinach.
