Not bad for wburg/gpoint
The bar is low for Indian in the Williamsburg / Greenpoint area but this place is by far the best.

This is what we have in Greenpoint
It's not the best or the worst indian food, but since it seems to be a failing business they often do bizarre things. They now refuse any delivery orders on a credit card. And they say things like "Cash only today" Still the food is the best Indian in the area, not saying a lot but it's fine, and a couple dishes are quite tasty. There is nothing special about it, but it's still really good. However I'm limited to picking up food in person there, where they don't refuse cards, and I would never want to be waited on at this place because they stress they are under seems a bit palpable.

Scam Artists
I placed a $12 order for delivery which was the minimum according to their menu. The man on the phone said it had to be $15. When I couldn't think of anything else to order, he said "45 minutes" and rudely hung up the phone. When I got my order, the bill was over $15 and the curry I ordered was marked up from $7.99 as it appears in the menu to $11.99. I argued with the delivery man about the false advertisement and he kept saying the price of curry is going up. That's not my fault!

sketchy delivery
I order delivery from Bombay Garden pretty often, but don't think I ever will again. Recently I called in a 12.00 order, I wanted to put it on my card and the woman on the phone practically begged me to pay cash. It seemed really weird but I felt bad knowing the fee's etc so I said OK. I had only a 20 bill which I needed the cash for the next morning, but whatever. The food came and I handed the delivery guy the 20 and asked him for 5 back. Then he told me he has no change. At all. Nothing. Not even 2 dollars. After a discussion about how not cool that is.... The second I went back in in to call to try put in on my card ( I needed that cash!) all of a sudden, Voila! he has all this money in his pocket! A wad of cash large enough that you couldn't just forget about. He was trying to scam me out of an $8 tip on a $12 order. Not cool.

1.5 Hours Late
40 minutes after ordering delivery I called back to check on the order and was told the delivery had gone out 10 minute prior. At the hour mark I was called by a lost delivery driver (corner of Met & Berry should not of been to hard) so I told them it was ok i'll cancel my order. When I called the restaurant back they told me I couldn't cancel. At this stage it was 1.5 hours late. I demanded cancellation and they said they would call back to confirm. Of course there was no return call.

Decent Food, Poor Service
Good enough food considering the long Indian food drought in this neighborhood, but their telephone service is poor. It's not so much rude as incredibly unprofessional. But the awkward phone call is a small price to pay when the tikka masala craving hits and there's only one place to satisfy it.
