    fantastic Indian food

My wife and I have eaten here several times now,and ordered takeout twice. Each time: polite, brisk service (not sure which "unfriendly" person served the people in one of the other reviews here, but we've had the same guy each time and he's been courteous and quite friendly) and...most importantly: reasonably priced, fantastic Indian food. Every single dish we've consumed has been generously portioned, and exquisitely delicious...I kid you not. Honestly, my wife and I would like to see more people in here...but we don't always come at peak hours. And ,apparently they do a lot of delivery, which might explain the sometimes empty chairs. It may not be "hip enough" for the hipster trustafarians to be seen at; not much of a "club" vibe;I guess(but I digress).... Anyway, we've been in Greenpoint for over 20 years, and have never had a good Indian food restaurant..let alone a great one. I hope they're around for a long time. Not to mention: their code rating is an "A"...it's a very clean place. But the food....the food...is great. You will not be sorry...

    Serviceable, but not amazing

This place is a little sad, but I'm still glad it's there. It's not the best for sitting in, but it's great if you just want to order in at home on a cold or rainy night. The food is not bad, but I've had some pretty incredible Indian food.. This place doesn't quite measure up. The staff are a little bit hard to communicate with, but they mean well. The food will get the job done, as long as you're not expecting something exceptional.

    This place is awesome!!

I have been obsessed with this place since I moved to the neighborhood. The food is awesome and the guys there are super nice. The ambiance leaves a little to be desired, but you can BYOB which makes up for it. Some people on here are ragging on their delivery, so maybe they should just go pick up instead!!

    Socially awkward but tasty

Have eaten in twice and done delivery many times. Chicken Tikka Masala is great, nan good, all around a good spot. In the restaurant the service has ranged from awkward to crazy, but it has never really deterred me since the food is good and why complain, it's NY and people are nuts. Phone manners are similarly absent. Delivery is generally sick fast, though once had a perplexing 50 minute wait. Delivery people have been friendly. It seems like a family-run place that has some family-run kinks, but if you're after Indian in GPNT, it satisfies.

    Sad, sad, sad

My boyfriend and I have been attempting to support this first Greenpoint curry joint since its inception in the old Socrates Diner. Often against our better tastebuds. Run by a kind, hopeful but directionless bunch, the place has had a slow, but persistent run downhill. Decor neglected, quality cut, prices upped: all notes in the swan song. Which is SAD, as there is such great untapped potential! We wish there was a real chance at redemption, but it requires a Ramsay-ian bollocking of the highest order.

    Not bad for wburg/gpoint

The bar is low for Indian in the Williamsburg / Greenpoint area but this place is by far the best.

This is what we have in Greenpoint

It's not the best or the worst indian food, but since it seems to be a failing business they often do bizarre things. They now refuse any delivery orders on a credit card. And they say things like "Cash only today" Still the food is the best Indian in the area, not saying a lot but it's fine, and a couple dishes are quite tasty. There is nothing special about it, but it's still really good. However I'm limited to picking up food in person there, where they don't refuse cards, and I would never want to be waited on at this place because they stress they are under seems a bit palpable.
