Do yourself a favor and go to Bombay Bistro
I went to BB on Saturday for my birthday with some friends and the food was excellent. The service was just wonderful. At first, one of my friends was apprehensive because he has a delicate stomach. (as do I but I always take risks!) Even though I cannot have too much spicy food, I went for it anyway. This is the first time in a long long time I was able to eat at a restaurant and not get sick. Everyone was pleased. The waitress was nice enough (and patient) to explain to us what everything on the menu was and how it was made. The peas Pulao and the lemon rice was delicious!. We also had dessert. It was an indian mango icecream and it was so smooth and just awesome! The prices were great and perfect for the economy. I was very satisfied. BB did not dissapoint. Very clean, great service, and great food. Oh and not to mention the fact that after dessert and coffee, we stuck around to talk and reminiss and the staff did not at any point hint at us to leave. We actually had to call THEM over to get the check. They were just so nice and patient. The only thing that was surprising to me was that iwas a saturday evening and it was practically empty. Actually, it was completely empty. it picked up a little towards the end of the night. I really hope this review helps. Go to Bombay Bistro!!!

Amazing Indian!
I went to this having never eaten Indian food before, and it was AMAZING. My friends who have eaten Indian before said it was some of the best they've ever had. I found myself craving the food several times over the next week. The place is very nicely decorated and the back area has pillows all over the place. The food is excellent, the naan bread is amazing. The service is also great! They were helpful and we never had to ask for a refill of water, it always came. They even give you warm towels at the end! This place is wonderful. I suggest you stop reading this review and go there right now.

Excellent Neighborhood Indian Restaurant
I work in the area and have become a regular at Bombay Bistro. It is definitely worth trying. The lunch buffet gets busy (only open 2 months or so, this place is already packed!), so be forewarned. But the waitstaff manages tables efficiently so waits are usually not long. The spread is impressive with goat, prawns, tandoori chicken and other meat dishes in rotation that are usually not featured at other restaurants. As a vegetarian, I find at least 4-6 dishes for me, usually one with a paneer unlike other Indian buffets. The food is spiced authentically and prepared with fine ingredients. However, the Bistro shines at dinner. Unlike so many Indian restaurants, Bombay Bistro is very well appointed. Warming red painted and oak wood lined walls have modern, clean-lined decor with a touch of Indian artistry. It's a soothing environment. More impressive (and also lacking at other Indian restaurants) is a gracious, comforting and well-informed staff. The service is truly impressive. The food is even better than at the buffet (the chef is probably less harried) and they offer several unique dishes (appropriately named Juhu Pani Puri and a tandoori vegetable tower that allows vegetarians to enjoy a tandoor cooked dish). Drinks are great too; have them recommend a cocktail. If it's true that they're considering a happy hour bar menu, this would also be ideal for a pre-dinner appetizer and drink. Highly recommend you check it out to see if you like it.

Fantastic Indian Dinner
Went here early on a Friday night and was seated immediately. The service was wonderful. They didn't have a happy hour special for drinks but said they will have it soon. The somosas were a tad bland, but wasn't greasy. Their Cauliflower dish was soooo good. If you've ever been to Tamarind and tried the cauliflower appetizer and thought it was too sweet after a while then you will love this. It's not as sweet and has a bit of heat to it. The waitress was super helpful and served us our dishes. She recommended the lemon rice and it did not disappoint. I'd definitely go here again.

the best indian place in midtown!
We went there for lunch, a group of 5. Despite a busy afternoon, the (cute) hostess got us a table in less than 5 mins. By unanimous vote, every single item on the menu was fantastic - the lamb, the chicken, the fish, the veggies. The waiter brought us regular naan, as well as onion kulchas and alu parathas to try, which were great. Its run by the same guy from Diwan, which means awesome "win your customer" service. Everyone went for second helpings, and we had force ourself to stop eating - the food was so amazingly good. Cant wait to head there again next week.
