The service ruins what would have been great
I ate here last week, and while the food was good, the experience was marred by the bad attitudes and lax service offered by the staff. The hostess insisted we sit on broken chairs at a wobbly table in the semi-outdoor back room while the front room with plenty of stable tables remained mostly empty. When we asked to sit inside the main dining room rather than in the tented back area (it is November, people) we were rudely brushed off with a grunt. We told the server the table was unstable, but were ignored. When later that night the table went flying and a burning candle crashed to the floor with wax staining my purse and shoes no one came out to say anything, or fix the problem. The waiter could not have cared less about our business, which is shocking in this recession. The empanadas were delicious, and the drinks were good too, but the hostess AND the waiter's extreme rudeness throughout the meal spoiled the entire experience. It is a shame, because it seemed like it could have become a cool regular spot. *sidenote: all the previous reviews of this restaurant mention issues with the service. Why doesn't the management fix this?

Ear blasting noise, bad food, poor service
This place is so noisey with ear blasting music forget about talking. Food is bland, tasteless, greasy, overcooked, undercooked. Service is slow, rude. Question: with the place half full why do they keep people waiting over a half an hour for a seat? The decor is fake, phony.

Some of the food is delicious some not
My husband and I went here about a month ago. The bacalao patties and flank steak are really tasty, but the rice and beans were bland. We were told there was a problem with the mixer so our drinks took a very long time. When they did arrive, our non-alcholic drinks were watered down. Then we heard another customer make the same complaint. I haven't sampled many of the items. Now I order take out mostly. The beef empanadas were good as well.

Not Authentic Colombian but decent
The place can be a little noisy for no reason. The service is good at times. We've had many flaky waiters. The food is good, if you don't mind getting the wrong meal once or twice it is worth the wait. The menu is a little haphazard and so is the music. There is no need for Britney Spears at a Colombian restaurant. Overall an ok hangout but if you want authentic Colombian, go to Jackson Heights, Queens!

Good food, not so good service.
Went to Bogota and it was an experience. Our waiter, wasn't very friendly; didn't tell us anything about the menu wasn't very nice when we were ordering. My cousin's boyfriend ordered a soda, my cousin and I got our sangria's before he got his soda. He had to ask for it; it only took a few seconds for the server to get it; so then why did he have to wait over 1o minutes before he finally to ask where it was. We ordered an appetizer, never came. We waited over 20 minutes for our food; they brought 2 plates of yellow rice before our meals came. It was so weird, two small plates of rice and no main entrees. Then our food came and we told our server to forget the appetizer and he said he would give us a free dessert for the mix-up. The food was great. We ordered a chocolate cake slice, took another 10-15 minutes to get it. It was cold when we got it, so it was obviously in the refrigerator; so then why did it take so long to cut a slice and put some readi-whip on it. Then we got the bill, I rarely check to make sure it's our bill but this time I did and it was not ours. My brother takes the bill to one of the workers and we waited some more for our waiter to bring us our bill; he doesn't even apologize for the mix-up. We did not leave the tip that they already added onto our bill; we were not a party of 6 ppl to have the tip automatically added to the bill and I'm sorry but our waiter did not deserve the amount listed. We did leave a tip but it was based on our service not on what they thought we should have given.

take it from a native
The staff was great, the food not so much. I am Colombian and dragged about 8 of my Colombian friends down here with hopes of finding a taste of home. The food was decent, but not Colombian, not even kind-of-sort-of. It was very bland, I guess it's true, if you want real Colombian food you have to go all the way to Queens. However, I do have a few American friends who have tried it and they think it's great. Definitely go and give it a try.

sangritas and platanos rellenos
The food is so good here, and it's perfect to sit at the bar for drinks and appetizers. They're open late on weeknights (most slope places are not) and the service is excellent. Try the margarita/sangria combo, it is excellent. But beware the Sangira, it's on the sweet side (probably delicious, if that's your thing). And please, please order the sweet plantains stuffed with meat. you will not regret!!
