The Oxtail ravioli has 1mm of filling and everything was oversalted. The staff was for the most part rude and indifferent. Pretty awful for the price. Will never go back.

    so so bocca

Had dinner tonight at Bocca East on 78th and 2nd. Food was okay, not spectacular. Prices not bad either. But the place was NOISY. Plus they had music playing. The walls are down to the bare brick, floors are the original wood. There's nothing to absorb the noise. Bar is right on top of the diners, too. Might try it again on rainy night. Nothing great.

    No tables for 3

This restaurant either has hostess that has no hospitality skills, or management thinks too highly of itself. We made reservations for a party of 3 and were told to fit in a table for 2. End of story. The concept of empty and struggling restaurants was not long ago, yet this new restaurant seems to think that treating its customers like they are burdens is ok. I sincerely hope they learn to treat patrons as guests. It's not a novel idea.

    Not sure why bad reviews

I tried this place for the first time last night and it was very good. The pasta was very fresh and tasty. The place was really cute and rustic looking. Also the prices are really reasonable. The pasta dishes are around $15/20 which isn’t bad at all. I would def go back again.

    Enjoyable Lunch.

We live in the neighborhood and have watched this place get up and running. Post Hurricane Irene we had a lovely lunch outside. the service was good, atmosphere very nice too. The food was good and reasonably priced. Tuna burgers for both of us. The espresso was fantastic! We will go back again.

Despite of the atmosphere, I wasn't happy about food and service.

    Bland

The place looks great and the prices are surprisingly fair. I have no complaints about the service but alas, I had to salt everything(which I never do). I really want this place to make it as I live up the block but I only hope the chef isn't an owner so he can be replaced. So many young, talented chefs out there looking for work......it would be a shame if a change wasn't made in order to make this place go. Linguine with clam had a weird taste, rigatoni melenzane had no taste, and the octopus could have used capers instead of lentils(is anyone there tasting what they're cooking??????).
