I'm a little reluctant in writing this review because I've wanted this spot to be my little secret. Whether it's to have a nice dinner with great ambiance (not stuffy) or for a couple of drinks, this place is perfect winebar/restaurant. I'm sure most food snobs will rip this place apart because it's no Daniel, but if you're looking for a good place to bring a date or to enjoy a nice meal coupled with great wine, this is the perfect place for you!

I've been to this place about 6 times now and it has always been unfailingly good - from birthday dinners for 6 to intimate dinners with out-of-town guests. The atmosphere is wonderful! Finally, a NYC restaurant got the lighting right. The service is very friendly and unhurried and the staff has always been spot on when it comes to helping with the formidable wine list. The food - wonderful! And I've tried 3-4 different entrees so far. This is a really nice addition to Hell's Kitchen. Good job!

This place was plain awful, from the shoddy service to the 5 out of 6 meals that our party had to send back. Completely inedible. One fish dish was completely raw (not supposed to be), one had at least a stick of butter and a cup of olive oil poured on top (you couldn't even see the food beneath), 2 dishes were so salty they couldn't be swallowed, and the last one was just the worst thing we've ever tasted. It took over half an hour to get one round of drinks/wine....not even a complete round because for some reason the waiter kept drawing a blank on the one martini order. That took almost an hour to receive. Forget a second round. We couldn't even get his attention. We were finally asked if we wanted anything else to drink by a busboy/runner while we were waiting for our check. And these problems were only half of it - never mind clumsy runners holding hot plates over our heads while trying to clear tables at the same time, having a dirty plate slammed into the back of my head, having dirty untensils slide off a plate that a runner was holding over my head, the manager blaming the waiter, the waiter blaming the kitchen....blah blah blah. on and on. The enitre debacle lasted too long and we were ecstatic to leave. There are plenty of trendy wine bars in NYC, so stay away from this one.

Granted, I didn't eat in, and it looks like a great restaurant/winebar. I ordered delivery, and over an hour later my food still wasn't ready. At this point, I expected at least an apology, but received none and was presented with the full bill. The delivery man spoke so little English that he couldn't understand the door person despite the fact that she sent him up to my floor - he still couldn't locate my apartment and they had to call me down to the lobby to get my food! My arugula salad was overwhelmed by balsamic vinegar and bresoala and disappointing. The pasta was dry, too salty. Maybe I'll try it one time in person for the wine, which I hear is pretty good.

This restaurant is absolutely amazing. the atmosphere and decor is absolutely top-notch, the service magnificent (how can waiters be both so professional and friendly?). The food of course is delicious. A tip or 2 to a reviewer below: If not getting your olives in your martini in time ruins your evening, you should stay home and if you want strawberries, then order freaking strawberries!

We had a special event at this restaurant - they were very accomodating and helpful with the details. Our server was very personable and quite knowledgeable about the wine list. We 5 Gals had a blast, loooooved our food, and drank way too much wine! I highly recommend this restaurant - especially as they are also reasonably priced.
