    Wonderful meal

My friend and I celebrated our birthday dinner here last night and I had a most delightful meal -- beet salad app, followed by what I'm guessing was designed to be the "low carb" dish -- a plate of prosciutto with asparagus and a poached egg with brown butter and parmesan cheese. Delish! Saffron cream brulee and chocolate cake also spectacular. The only negative the whole night was the fact that there was no TP in the ladies' room, resulting in a clogged toilet.

    Lost its charm

Used to live in the neighborhood and go here when it first opened. Went back last night, had a 10pm reservation, got sat at 10:30 with no apologies. The service was spotty and they seemed disinterested b/c it was the end of the night (the place was packed). Food has gone down hill. My usual fav's are not longer "stand out" just "good". I would save your $$ and eat elesewhere. Sad to see something get so popular they no longer notice the small things that attributed to its success..fantastic italian food, great service, nice warm atmosphere. Now it just feels like a post-theater go to/nightclub.

    great service

First time at this restaurant and the one thing my husband and I commented on was the GREAT service. Previous service reviews may have accounted for a big improvement. The food was very good, especially the short ribs but as one reviewer stated it was almost too fast. All in all a good experience and we would return.

    good food, horrible service

The food is excellent but unfortunately the service can be best described as "diner-like". Our waiter was juggling at least 6 tables at a time. When we were first seated we told him that would first order a cocktail and then a bottle of wine and we would like to take our time. Upon getting our cocktail he wanted to take our order. I asked him if they had any specials and he said yes. But I had to ask since he would not have given to them if I didn't. No other table around us received specials. We started off with the cheese appetizer and this was excellent. We love cheese and this cheese course was described as the chef's choice. We wanted to know what we were tasting but the waiter was no where around to describe the cheeses. When he arrived he wasn't sure until he went back to ask the kitchen what he had served us. Our bottle of wine that we had ordered was not even opened at the table. He opened in the wait station which was is poor in any restaurant especially one that touts itself as a wine bar. After opening the wine we proceeded to enjoy another appetizer and then our entrees, all were excellent. We never saw our waiter again until the check was presented. Again the food, atmosphere, wine selection and price are very good but is was not worth the experience due to the horrible service. We will not go back!

Excellent Food and Wine, Poor Service

As you can see, the reviews are pretty consistent. We didn't get waited on until 10 minutes after we sat as well. Once we ordered, our salad came out in about 15 seconds--but it was quite good. The arugula was fresh, and the bresaola was awesome. Our main courses were served fairly timely (although no waiter came by between to ask if we wanted drinks or anything). Our mains were both great--I got the 16oz pork chop and my wife got the branzino. Cooked to perfection, perfectly seasoned. No waiter came by to see how things were after it was served. The wine was excellent, served at a perfect temperature. Prices are reasonable. The wait staff just needs a tune up.

    Pros & Cons

Even though we didn't see a waiter for ten minutes after we sat down, our apps came a minute after that with "pre-cooked" all over them. Stuffed Olives were battered and fried (not mentioned) which made them heavy and greasy. The pasta was obviously pre-made and then dressed with the sage sauce which couldn't hide unevenly heated tortelli. My gf and I were ready to declare "never again" until the main courses came out. Both outstanding and very fairly priced: Short Ribs and RibEye special. Waiter was nowhere to be seen until check time, but what could have been an awful meal was saved by a pretty crowd and a great steak.

    Agree with the poor service

I also live in this neighborhood, and until recently found it very difficult to get a table without waiting here. Recently there was not a wait so we decided to give it a try. The food was pretty good, but the service is definitely lacking. Service was slow, and waiters are unattentive. The best part of this place is the bruschetta you get in the beginning of the meal.
