    Awesome

I love this restaurant! The food is delicious the best Italian food I've had in America. The pastas are always wonderful, I've never tried a pasta here that I didn't like. The gnocci is light, fresh, and melts in the mouth. The apetizers are delicious too. The dessert can get a little too avant-garde, but if you eat it with an open mind, you'll really enjoy it. The service is prompt, friendly, and efficient. The atmosphere is also really nice. I'll definitely be back!

    Wonderful

This is our first visit. reservations for two at 7:30, we arrived about 5 minutes late, and we're promptly sat along the banquette across from the bar. great table. wait staff was very attentive, couple of specials to know about, quite the wine list, ordered a really nice nebbiolo for $54 we ordered the lobster and the steak tartare appetizers... fantastic. shared two pastas, shrimp ravioli, and gnocci with wild boar ragout . I loved the gnocci, so very light and tender, and made the whole dish very delicate. she really liked the shrimp ravioli, more substantial, For secondi we shared the pork and the duck...both amazing! . The dessert menu came but before we could make a decision, the waiter came back with two desserts on the house..the pecorino creme brule and the pear strudel served with a strange but delicious gorgonzola cheese gelato...we were very impressed by the whole experience...We can't wait to go back

Like serving steak on a stinky trash can

Celebrated a birthday here a few weeks ago with a party of 11 on a weekend evening @ 7. We were greeted warmly and were seated as an incomplete party, since a few guests were 30 minutes late. The rest of us ordered apps and we wanted to wait to order the entrees until the guest of honor had arrived. We ordered the cheese & cured meats sampler, and the scallops, all of which were very good, especially paired with the nice crusty bread. We were mostly done with our apps when another hostess, not the one who had seated us, asked if our other guests were on the way. When we said that they are about 10 minutes away, she told us that they have a large party that will be coming in around 8:30, and that they would be seated RIGHT HERE (pointing to our table). Looking around, the place was only about 60% full, and there were a bunch of open tables on the other side of the place that could easily be grouped together for their other party. The hostess then asked if we could call our other guests and find out where they were, and get their ETA. First of all, never tell me that you want to force me out 1.5 hours after my reservation time. Next, don't tell me to hurry up and order so you can seat another party when I AM SITTING RIGHT THERE, especially since there was plenty of space available in the rest of the place. Most of us avoid alcohol for medical reasons, so we did not have a big bar tab, and it felt like we weren't spending enough to be able to sit there and ENJOY OUR MEAL. After the hostess made this request to us, it seemed like it was impossible to get our (non-alcoholic) drinks refilled without having to flag a bus boy. (We did order 1 bottle of wine, for those of us who do drink, and it was from a great selection.) When we did finally order our meals, they came out promptly, and were all pretty interesting and some even delicious, but my taste buds had already soured due to the rude treatment from this hostess. We finished our dinner and were out by 9:15. We saw the other party get seated exactly where I thought they should be, with plenty of room to spare, starting @ 9. If we weren't made to feel like an imposition, I might have recommended this place based on the food and menu creativity.

    Above Average

The app's are amazing, a good wine selection, the entrees are barely above average, the desserts are really strange. Excellent service and atmosphere. Worth trying.

    Superb!

I went to Bocca with my girlfriend last night after a friend of mine told me good things about it. The ambiance was relaxing and totally unpretentious; the food was delicious, and we highly recommend the shrimp appetizer and the duck main course..my girlfriend LOVED IT; the cocktails were inventive, such as the basil smash a very refreshing cocktail; and the service was impeccable. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu. The ricotta dessert was also fantastic. We can't wait to return to this restaurant.

    Tiny Portions at Inflated Prices

Tiny portions, indifferent service. The food - what there was of it - was good, but, the price/quantity value was not. I weigh about 100 lbs. and have a small appetite, and went away hungry. Ordered tuna steak, and got perhaps a 4" square thin slice. Dessert was a joke: coffee mousse in a 2 1/2" ramekin, surrounded by "sambucca gelatin" - 4 one inch squares of jello topped by a coffee bean -- for $8.95. The method of increasing the check was to keep the main dishes reasonable via small portions, but inflate prices on everything else, including drinks.

    Great Flatiron Italian Restaurant

We stopped into this hidden this evening for a quick bite and stayed for hours. The drinks were incredible, the service was spectacular and the food was amazing. I strongly recommend this restaurant for anything from a refreshing cocktail to a great Italian dinner. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. They make this restaurant. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.
