Bobby Van's Grill

My wife and I stopped for dinner on 5-13 with a reservation. We were seated at once and the service was attentive without being bothersome and first rate. Only slip was my seafood bisque which got forgotten, but it was brought out right way and it was very good.The food was excellent, I had the surf and turf which was an 8oz filet plus two head on shrimp that were HUGE. The steak was done just as requested and super tender. They serve dry aged beef here which is a different flavor than regular, so just be aware of that. My wife had the salmon which was grilled perfectly and moist, not dry. Even the bread basket was fabulous, at least 8 different items in it, all fresh. A great experience in line with the others I had read here. Highly recommended. We were at the W 50th St. location.

Bobby Van's was a last minute reservation so I wasn't expecting much. But, I love steakhouses as a rule and this one was better than most. I ordered the crab cocktail and petite filet with a side of creamed spinach and mashed and all were delish. We got a nice window table because we arrived for a late lunch before the dinner crowd. Our waiter was also a doll. I love it when a place hits it on all fronts - food, service, and ambiance - and Bobby Van's does just that.

We enjoyed a wonderful dinner on 3/17/07.The service was excellent and we were not felt like we were being pushed to finish.I will be looking foward to return,to have another fest.thank you

My husband and I went to the theatre for a matinee of "A Chorus Line" on Nov. 25, 2006. We had dinner reservations at Bobby Van's. I had found the restaurant on Menupages.com and it sounded great! I made the reservation through opentable.com which was just so easy. They accomodated us for the exact time we requested and even had a quiet table for two in the corner, which was quite cozy. We have eaten in a number of steak houses in the past, but Bobby Van's is a "10" in our book. The service, the atmosphere, the food, and even the drinks were top notch! We started off with a cold appetizer of a 1/2 lobster each, a bowl of lump crab meat, and 4 nice sized shrimp. It was just heavenly. And the presentation was so appetizing! My husband and I both ordered the Rib Steaks. He gets his black & blue, and it was cooked to perfection. My medium cooked steak was just as perfect! The garlic mashed potatoes was a great side dish, as was the asparagus & the creamed spinach. Our whole experience at Bobby Van's was wonderful. Next time, we promise to taste the delicious looking desserts. We were just too stuffed to eat another bite! We have gone to Morton's Steak house numerous times, but this choice is now our new place to come for steaks! If you're looking for a great dinner, look no further....this is it! But be prepared to spend the bucks!!! It's NOT cheap! This is a "Special Occasion" restaurant that will forever be remembered.

If you're looking to have a steak, go no further. The four of us ordered RIB STEAK, and what a great choice it was! Had to be one of the best tasting steaks I had in years.
