I know, who orders Sea Bass at a steak place. Well, you should! It was amazing! The fish was cooked perfectly. My husband (who is in the business) felt the steak was one of the best he had ever had. The sides are huge, order only one for every two people or you'll have a lot of really good food wasted. Female busser was excellent. Never touched the wine bottle to refill glass.

cool decor, mediocre food, very poor service. it's not worth the $40 for the steak. i think the waiter ordered them medium rare instead of medium well like we requested...too bad. i had high hopes for this place.

Ate here last night with my wife for our anniversary before our Broadway show, since it was near our theater. Reservations were easily available a few days ahead, unlike some other "high end" places booked weeks in advance. We even found a parking spot at the MuniMeter right in front of the restaurant, which covered the whole night. The staff was friendly, and our server was very professional and pleasant and asked if we had a show to attend, so as not to make us late; the service was prompt but not rushed. We had a fried artichoke appetizer, along with a special, carmelized apples, filled with gorgonzola and wrapped with bacon, each very tasty; we each had a petite filet mignon, ($69.90 for the two, not bad as high end steak places/ New York go) which was plenty big enough, charred nicely on the outside and perfectly medium inside, tender and full of flavor, with sides of creamed spinach and hash browns, which were great too. Wines by the glass were reasonable ($9.50) and we shared an "individual" pecan pie, topped with vanilla ice cream (also $9.50, again a fair price). We got there at 6 and were done at 7:30, very well paced; the atmosphere was typical steakhouse, lots of wood and glass, and the tables were spaced far enough apart that it was not noisy. The crowd was a mix of families and couples, some dressed up, some in shorts and T shirts, but all seemed to be enjoying their meals. While it was pretty empty at 6, it was filling up by the time we left. There is a long bar on the opposite side of the restaurant, with a good bar menu, draft beers and 2 big screen TVs for the ballgame as well. I would definitely recommend going here as a new find, instead of the usual suspects for steak.

Went for dinner during a trip to NYC to catch a couple of shows. The service in this place was rotten with the exception of a very nice bus girl. The wait staff are rude and uninterested. We had 3 different waiters during the course of our meal and not one asked if our meal was satisfactory. The prices on the menu suggest a much higher caliber of service and quality than you will find here. The meal was mediocre at best. Try one of the other restaurants in the area because this one isn't worth your time or money.

Every time I have been to BV Grill I have walked away glad that I chose it. The service is pleasant and non-intrusive. The seafood and steak options are both excellent and varied. The meal is great from appetizer to dessert, a surprisingly rare accomplishment in NY.

For the same amount of money that you would pay for a tiny piece of salmon (and nothing more) at nearby Del Friscos, you get a HUGE, delicious plate over escarole and potatoes. Along with a friendly, attentive staff (even at the bar) and a great atmosphere, this midtown spot is one of the best in the area.
