Don't make me work for it!
The food was good, and the price was slightly high, but in the end reasonable. But I will in the end, NEVER RETURN! It's a small soup/salad/sandwich place, which I get. Since there is almost no room for people to sit, it's got a kind of walk up, grab and go feel. The problem is that the menu only exists in one place, and that is across the entire wall on the opposite side of the room when you walk in. The menu has a ton of items on it, all in small letters. Part of this is obscured by a monitor hanging from the ceiling showing local news. The rest of these tiny, dense words are in the dark, and in between you and this menu, besides all of the other patrons who are waiting for food, is a GIANT CHANDELIER. Its like a spaceship is landing in the middle of the place, and you're expected to decipher the tiny words that are in the shadows while you're being abducted in a spotlight. But the trial doesn't end there - as the line progressed and I finally came to the counter, there were 3 people. One at the register, one running back and forth with food, and one closest to you as you approach. "What do you want?" he asks. "A sandwich" I reply. "No, I don't do that" he says. After a little back and forth, I learn that he only does drinks, and the lady at the register will take my order, so my journey is not yet at an end. The rest of the experience was pretty standard, if slightly slow, with a little added surliness from our Drink Master. In the end, the food was good, even very good, but not enough to make me squint at that sign and wait on that line to not be able to sit down for my lunch. The Lesson: Don't make me work hard to give you money.

Too bad
This place makes great sandwiches. Unfortunately the service, atmosphere and manors cancel out anything good about it. Don't even think of standing anywhere near the cafe if you did not pay them some sort of fee, they will approach you and ask you leave. The young man who works there is especially pretentious, and on more than one occasion has gone out of his way to be an complete jerk. Sorry Blue Dog, you lost a customer.

Not recommended
I am at work and ordered the brie bacon sandwich, an iced green tea and an oatmeal cookie. First off - It took over an HOUR to get to my office and I am only three blocks away on 28th Street. The sandwich is good but the bread is chewy, and never got my cookie AND Green tea is a Peppermint tea! They totally screwed up my order...on top of it all I have to tip the guy and NO COOKIE IN BAG! I am so pissed....So i asked them to return the cash for the cookie because the girl was a little short with me when I told her they forgot my cookie. I am not messing with this place ever again.. 15$ for what? Some crappy headache of an order! I am so annoyed...

even with groupon - not worth it!
was so thrilled to try a new place i was close enough to frequent regularly. bad attitude, when they saw the groupon they were totally uncooperative! one of the sandwiches was a roast beef with havarti and avocado (asked for the havarti and avocado on the side) they refused - said roast beef on baguette is all we're going to get! then they startd complaining about the tip - we ordered take out

are you kidding?
$14.15 for a side order of potato salad and a watermelon lemonade? Seriously overpriced!

I used to love this spot
...But it has seriously gone downhill. I work across the street and used to love BDog for the healthy and somewhat affordable eats, but this the 3rd time in a row they forgot to give me croutons, cheese and dressing for my salad after i requested it (why you need to request these things for a salad is beyond me). And the portions they give you in the pre-made salad are about half of what they used to. I will not go back bc this place does not know what they are doing, and it seems the ingredients are regurgitated from what was left over the night before. Whole foods/City Bakery, you know have my undying love and affection. Bluedog, RIP.

Well worth the wait in line!
Unless you frequent the Chelsea area, you wouldn't see this little gem hiden on 25 st. The coffee is amazing. Their Morning Glory muffin is my favorite!! The croissants (which are homemade) are the best I've had since I came back from Europe! I have yet to try something that I didn't love! Try their homemade salads!! Unlike any place in the city -- guaranteed!!
