Not impressed with the food or service

I came here on a Thursday night during Restaurant Week with 9 pm reservations. I arrived 20 minutes early because the hostess told me to come early at the chance of getting an earlier seating. We ended up waiting for 45 minutes in the overly crowded and noisy entrance. Once we were seated, the service was inconsistent...drinks coming out quickly, but the appetizers slow...entrees quick...etc. The food was average and the portions were on the small side. My peach pie dessert was cold when it should have been warm, and not very tasty. I don't think that I would come back here, although I could see it being a decent place to take a date

    Great all-round restaurant

On a recent night, I took a group of 5 friends to Blue Water Grill for a birthday celebration. It surpassed all of my expectations for a somewhat depressing birthday. The service was excellent and very attentive taking great care of my entire group. The food is always really good having lots of options, not just seafood choices. The chocolate fondue dessert topped off a great birthday dinner!

    Very good food, poorservice

Granted a party of 10 can be a challenge for a restaurant, I severely doubt the service would have been any better for a table of 2. After seating us an hour later than our reservation time, the wait staff proved to be even worse than the wait time. The waiter forgot 3 of the 10 appetizers and then proceeded to forget 2 of the 10 entrees. As a way to measure how poor the service was, the manager felt obliged to comp us several rounds of drinks, 2 bottles of champagne, and every dessert. Though the food was very good once it finally arrived to our table, we will never return based on the service and unpeasant experience.

    Good food, poor service

I had dinner at Blue Water with five friends Saturday night. We had a 9:00pm reservation, but were not seated until almost 10pm. The staff was "sorry for the delay". The table was not fully set when we were seated. Our server had a messy appearance. Everyone at the table LOVED their apps and food. I however did not like my food. The server brought me the wrong food. When she did bring me the correct order, a half hour later, it was severly over salted. I didnt even eat half.

Okay, but there is much better out there

I've gone to BWG a few times year for the past 10 years. I will probably never return. The food is pretty good, but you have to know what to order. The blackened swordfish is great, while I've had better sushi rolls from a supermarket. The deciding factor for not returning is that I've noticed it's gotten pretty dirty dirty glasses, utensils, floors and bathroom. So I"m pretty afraid about what the kitchen looks like. The service was always terrible, with a rare occasion of getting a nice waiter.

    Melt in Your Mouth Delicious!

I dined at Blue Water Grill on a typically busy Saturday night. We had reservations at the downstairs Jazz dining room at 8:30. Unfortunately we didn't get sat until about 9:30, but they did give us 3 free appetizers and a glass of wine. Here are my suggestions, they were all divine: Steamed dumpling appetizer, crab cake appetizer, lobster spring roll appetizer, ***Soy glazed Chilean Sea Bass (there were 4 of us in our party and we all tried a different entree...this was by far the best. Save room for dessert!!! The banana tower is out of this world. I will definitely be back.

Good food, nice scene, Way 2 Loud!

We made Sunday brunch reservations for downstairs. While the scene was nice, food and service good, there was a jazz band playing. While they were quite good, they were way too loud, drums, guitars etc. Sitting at a round table with friends, we couldn't talk to anyone else at the table except our immediate neighbors. And even then it was difficult (and I'm not old, either)! we asked the woman seating everyone twice if she could lower the volume just a bit (they had amps), and she said she'd try (I guess she didn't try too hard). Finally they took a break, but I wish it was longer....no need for that kind of nonsense when you're trying to talk to friends, not scream over an amp.... Bottom Line: would go back but would not sit downstairs for Sunday brunch.
