    Not Impressed

I was really looking forward to eating at the Blue Water Grill, I had heard really good things about it from various people. I have to say the overall experience was unimpressive. The food was lacking, not nearly as good as expected and the service was mediocre. Too much money for a middle of the road restaurant.

    Great food

I have been here twice and both times the food was excellent. I agree that they have great presentation and portion size. The lobster maki roll and the blackened swordfish are truly excellent. They have a great wine list as well. However, the waiter I had the second time was downright rude, when asked if he could take our appetizer order and come back and take our entree order he said no! For a place this expensive I don't expect rude waiters. However, the food was good enough to bring me back.

    Love it!

I really like this place, I've been there 3 times. They have perfect portions and they get an A for presentation on all of their dishes. The banana dessert is a must-have...

    Gone downhill!

I used to go there quite a bit. This last time (last week) was completely different than any other time I have gone. What a waste. It used to be great food and great fun. It appeared that everyone who worked there hated their jobs. Not fun at all. The place just seemed negative.

    Go for the sea bass.

Best chilean sea bass! OK service. It's good for every events from b'days to date to brunch with friends and you don't have to break your bank acct. I love this place for sunday brunch but don't order seared tuna on sunday, it was horrible..

    Good food bad service

I went to BWG for lunch this past Sat. I didn't have a long wait at all. However, our waiter was very aloof and seemed as if he had better things to do than serve us our meal. I did not have a good experience because of the service. But, the crab cakes and sushi were excellent. I will not rush back because there are tons of places in the city with good food and GOOD SERVICE!

Mixed feelings due to poor service

Our dining experience at the Blue Water Grill was mixed. We made reservations (for a party of six) one week in advance at 7 pm but still managed to wait for an hour before we were seated. No explanations or apologies were extended but a snobby responses such as "tables are being prepared so it'll take a moment." Make sure to grab some "swedish fish" gummy candies in a fish bowl by the bar to curb your appetite. After the long and tiring wait, we had to literally beg to get a basket of bread for our table due to the poor service. Our waiter seemed rather detached and aloof when it came to table service. It felt as though he was doing us a favor to service our table when in reality that was his job! The food was exceptional especially the seafood castle and most of the fish dishes (sea bass and halibut). But again, it was the poor service that spoiled our mood and atmosphere. The waiter made very little or no effort to make us feel like welcomed dining patrons. The busboy actually made more of an effort by refilling our bread basket and glasses of water. In summary, if you're headed to this restaurant then expect to wait on line (even with a reservation) and expect poor waiter service. The redeeming items are the food and busboy.
