Love the Ribs
After reading so many disappointing reviews of Blue Smoke I just had to review. I have been to BS about 4-5 times now, all for dinner, and every time is better than the last. I absolutely love the Rib Sampler and mac and cheese. All of the ribs are prepared differently and each has it's own unique flavor, definitely worth getting the sampler. The wait staff isn't impressive but have never had to wait long for the food. Best dessert ever: Sticky Toffee Pudding!

Stay away. It's just not worth the money or time. We went for lunch before 3pm on a Saturday and could only get the Dinner Menu. It took 50 minutes to get our food despite the restaurant being half empty. The staff were slow, unattentive and had poor knowledge of the food. I counted 5 other tables that waited as long as us for their food. The food itself was just as dissapointing. My ribs were dry and had hardly any meat on them, the burgers were barely warm, the vegatabes cold and wilting. The mashed potatos runny with water. Even our drinks (2 beers and 2 bloody Mary's) took 25 minutes to arrive. Stay away, New York has so much more to offer.

Takes for Ever
Blue Smoke has good food that is to expensive and the service is horribly slow. There is no such thing as a quick lunch here. The food takes a good 30 minutes to arrive at your table and that was when the place was empty so who knows how long it will take if they are busy.

Decent Place
The wait is fairly long on a friday night. The ribs were tasty and the pulled pork was good. The mac and cheese is very dense (not watery) but is better than average. Certainly not the best mac and cheese. For the money and the food I would not recommend Blue Smoke.

So good I almost cried
I am rarely impressed to the level that I was last night at Blue Smoke. We decided to avoid the short wait and sit at the bar, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Our bartender/server was very attentive and noticed when my order was missing something I had asked for even without me haveing to mention it, which he immediately retrieved for me. My food-the pulled pork platter was amazing. cauliflower-amazing. beans-ok. my friends burger-amazing. mashed potatos-great! we were so happy with ourselves for deciding to eat there finally and would have been satisfied enough but decided to order dessert. the sticky toffee pudding was absolutely incredible...we almost cried. All around it was the BEST choice for a fun winters night and we will definitely be back soon!

not worth the wait
We had a 945 pm reservation but didnt get seated till 10 30 pm .The service was fair at best in fact the waitress forgot to place one of the orders. The food was very ordinary not even as good as any of the inexpensive chain restaurants .

Not worth the trip
I am from the south so maybe I am partial to good BBQ but this is not it. While the warm chips with Blue Cheese sauce is really good, the ribs are the most disappointing I have ever had and the sauce tastes like a sauce you would be at the grocery store. I am not sure anything really gets smoked here and maybe that is the problem with NYC BBQ. No one has an outdoor smoker that can smoke the meat for 12+ hours so that it falls off the bones. if you need BBQ, come somewhere else where you don't have to wait forever for a table to then be disappointed in mediocre BBQ.
