I just came back from a $400+ client dinner. When the bill came, which was already over the top, I noticed there were itemized olive charges. The restaurant charged us for olives that were in the martinis. I will never go back. I am a New Yorker, and consider myself pretty forgiving, but to have "olive" charges on the bill for all of the martinis is ridiculous and appalling, and I would not recommend Blue Smoke. In addition, I told the waitress that this was unacceptable, and she refused to remove the olive charges from the bill. Too many great restaurants in NYC that serve great food and service, to ever go back.

Expensive and the service isn't that great, both points I'll agree with. However, this is great GREAT barbecue. I had the Rib Sampler and the Sweet Potato fries and both were fantastic. I really want to come for the jazz club sometime too. Overall, thumbs up.

Mmmmmmeat! A delightful indulgence of perfectly prepared ribs that were remarkably juicy and had just the right amount of sauce is what will bring me back for more. The side of corn bread and baked beans were simply “lick your plate” goodness. This casual ski lodge type atmosphere is charming and comfortable enough to hang out and chat over a second bottle of wine. I look forward to my next dining experience at Blue Smoke. I hope that our knowledgeable and experienced waiter is still there.

Worth every penny! We had the Texas and Kentucky style ribs with corn bread and baked beans as sides. The "Sticky Pudding dessert was divine and the coffee wasn't half bad either. Our waiter Ben, was terrific - friendly and professional. "Blue Smoke" made me a very happy carnivore!

I have loved this restaurant for a very long time and I have never gotten a meal I didnt like. I love the baby back ribs but with the KC sauce...the house bbq sauce is good but not as good as the KC. The Mac and Cheese is in my opinion the best in the city. No matter what I order, I always get the jalepeno hush puppies...they are too good for words. Cant wait for the next time.

Just had to put my 2 cents worth in after reading a few bad reviews. Had dinner here on Friday the 13th. The service was warm and friendly, and if we waited a bit for our meal, hey, the place was packed (what would you expect on a Friday night?) and more to the point, when the main dishes arrived, it was worth the wait and then some. I've had real southern slow-cooked bbq, and this is as good as any I can recall-- so tender you don't even feel like you need to reach for the dental floss when you're done! We ordered the "Rhapsody in 'cue" sampler, plus a half-order of the Memphis-style baby back ribs. The sides (cole slaw, sweet-potato fries, and cauliflower) were all likewise wonderful, and the desserts delish too. I look forward to a return visit.

After reading so many disappointing reviews of Blue Smoke I just had to review. I have been to BS about 4-5 times now, all for dinner, and every time is better than the last. I absolutely love the Rib Sampler and mac and cheese. All of the ribs are prepared differently and each has it's own unique flavor, definitely worth getting the sampler. The wait staff isn't impressive but have never had to wait long for the food. Best dessert ever: Sticky Toffee Pudding!
