    I like to pork it.

The food there is great. The Kansas City style full slab is great to share with 2 people... The side dishes are great too... I'm a big fan of the sweet potato fries.

    The pig was a turkey

The suckling pig was a big let down. It tasted like turkey and the portion was small. I can say that the texas salt and pepper beef ribs are great though.

    Too frilled Que

The service was great. the endless drinks were lovely. The hush puppies were relly good. The beans were a BIG diappointment. The ribs were just okay.

    Not a threat

No dry rubbed pork ribs!!!! Brisket was flavorful but tepid when served. Babybacks were okay. Sides don't disappoint but don't really shine either.

    Good BBQ for New York

I am from the deep South where bbq is king. The food I had last night was good, no Dreamland, but good. I reccomend the Kansas City Ribs. The sides were large and plenty to share. My favorite being the cornbread muffins and spicy cheese fries. Now the best for last, Dessert. You have to get the Chocolate layered cake. It is like mom is in the kitchen on a Sunday afternoon. It comes out warm complimented with an ice cold glass of milk. Wear the stretch pants here because you won't leave hungry.

    Forget the diet

Granted I'm a city girl thru and thru and have never been below the mason-dixon line more than a handful of times, but I am a total foodie and I know what I like. The food at blue smoke is absolutely delicious, dream-worthy even. Authentic? Who knows? Who cares? I certainly don't. Keep in mind the food won't be like Bubba's Rib Shack...cuz it's NOT Bubba's rib shack and doesn't pretend to be. If you go, try the mac and cheese (so creamy), the spicy cheese fries (absolutely heavenly), the baby back ribs, the fried green tomates, the peel and eat shrimp, the fried green tomatoes...OKAY! You get the point. You want authentic ribs? Go westward or southward. You want good food? Go to blue smoke.
