    Agree ..slowww lunch service

I'm in agreement with a prior reviewer who had to wait 40 minutes for food to come out at lunch -- I guess we were lucky, we only had to wait 35 minutes, which is a long time when you have to get back to work and the restaurant isn't crowded. When we asked the waitress to check after about 20 minutes, she came back to let us know "it shouldn't be long, they're putting your shrimp on the grill now ..." HUH?! Food was okay but service was beyond slow. Lots of smoke at Blue Smoke, but no fire under the servers ...

Fun BBQ place with tasty drinks

This place is a lot of fun for dinner with a group of friends. Order a bunch of starters to share, and explore the cocktail menu.

    This is not real BBQ

I am from Texas. I have eaten and cooked real BBQ for as long as I can remember. This is not it. The brisket was just that DRY. It is not supposed to be if cooked correctly! The real brisket was way too fatty! Again if it was cooked correctly it would not be so. The beans were ok but hey what can I expect from New York! The beer and just about everything else on the menu is way over priced. Brisket is a cheap cut of meat so 19 bucks for a plate is unacceptable! I was in NY to visit my friend who has been there for a few years. He told me that I was going to have the best BBQ ever. I literally slapped him in the face and told him to give up his man card when we left! Face it unless you grew up eating and cooking real BBQ you do not have a clue how it is done! Thumbs up for trying though!

    So underrated for families

I have been here many times and always enjoy the food. Tonight I took my 2.5 YO for an early dinner. Great variety for kids on the menu and the service could not have been better. They gave my son a cookie to decorate b/f his dinner and then brought it after for him to eat. This place also has one of the most underrated burgers in NYC. Will be back soon!

    uh, no

Slow service at lunch. Waited almost 40 minutes for our food today, then ordered dessert, waited a while and the waitress told us she forgot to put it in. Had brisket... I'm from Texas and always looking for good brisket. This wasn't it. The "lean" was, not surprisingly for anyone who knows this dish, dry. The "marbled" was entirely fat with no meat attached. It felt weird to pay upwards of $20 for a plate of beef fat. The banana cream pie tasted like lemon? It was sour, couldn't finish it. Very good atmosphere, maybe a good place o drink or something. Food is very overrated and service friendly but inept.

    Missed...

This place further proves that people from the NorthEast know nothing about fried chicken. And ditto from most of the other dishes here. If you think this place knows anything about Southern food, then you're just taking their press release as word (along with multitudes of bloggers). The servers and location are nice. But unless your expense account is picking up the tab, hit somewhere else.
