We went on a thursday and had to wait about 45 min. Then we had some of the bbq which was subpar at best. The brisket was fatty and grey. The beef rib was so tough you couldnt chew it. The highlight was the dessert. The low point was the bill. Will not return......

Simply put, Blue Smoke served the best Mac and Cheese and Wings (the Chipotle wings) I have ever eaten. I was informed that the wings are smoked for 14 hours--which comes at no surprise given how they tasted. Each time I have been here I saw a jazz performance while I ate, so the ambience and service were all dictated by the performance. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for great bbq food and a smooth atmosphere.

This was my first and last visit. The salt and pepper beef ribs, so highly praised by the NY Times, were inedible. The three kind of pork ribs all tasted the same. No, that's not true - none of them had any taste! The collard greens and cole slaw were quite good, but the BBQ potato chips tasted only of salt. The service was fine. It was a very disappointing experience.

Nice place with a cool kind of air about it. Where in NY do we have BBQ and a kind of scene feel.....HERE! It's like a Houston's scene (well, maybe a tad below), somewhat dim (could be dimmer), but they totally need to turn the music up. All you hear are plates and glasses. As for the food...you totally could share if you want to leave comfortable not full. Get apps and sides and an entree. BBQ chips with bluecheese (and ranch?) & bacon is AMAZING! Then we got the rib sampler which was very good but lets face it...all BBQ in NYC is the same. Even Dallas BBQ is just as good, but Blue Smoke's secret...2 amazing kinds of table BBQ sauce and a MAGIC DUST seasoning.....yummy! I'd go back just for that! They totally need frozen drinks though, it could add a fun feel to the place. Sides seem good. Mashed Potatoes and Creamed Spinach are just average, get the mac and cheese. As for dessert- choc cake was just rich and boring. Very Entenmans. Get the apple pie with the cinammon icecream . I'd return!

Small dishes for price but food is outstanding. Best baked beans ever and pulled pork awesome.

Couldn't have had a better time. our waitress was top notch - incredibly helpful with entree/appetizer selection and very patient throughout our meal. everyone in our party lapped up their food with high marks for the ribs (including beef ribs), hamburger, and applewood smoked chicken. the fries are also excellent. for dessert, our table shared the warm apple crisp which was a delight, particularly paired with cinnamon ice cream. we will be back soon, for sure!

I have heard a lot about this place so i deceided to give it a go. We ordered a bunch of bbq items and a bunch of regular items. The BBQ leaves much to be desired. Pulled pork, no good. Brisket, might be the poorest i ever had. Ribs. dry and over cooked. The highlight was the burger and desserts. Anyway if you want good BBQ go somewhere else but if you want decent bar food with good service Blue somke is as good as any other place.
