    Incredible Chili

Last night we went into Blue Moon for the first time with appropriate expectations based on the decor and music. While the music is way too loud to support normal conversation, we experienced the best chili we have had in over ten years and a good beef burrito. The Blue Moon chili is one of three chili offerings that they have and while I can't speak for the other two, the Blue Moon chili with its tender chunks of prime sirloin is spicy without being overbearing, Truly a great bowl of chili. The beef burrito (called the Moonarito) was made with shredded lean beef and just enough rice and refried beans to make their presence known without overpowering the beef. A very good dish and a great meal. On the downside, their unsweetened ice tea was adequate, but not real good.

    Not bad...

Service was fantastic. Food was average. Prices were decent. Chips and salsa were plentiful. Portions are big.

    Disappointed

Went to blue moon after seeing the patio packed many nights. However, the food was subpar...doesn't classify as Mexican or Tex-Mex. Our waitress sat in the corner talking to a co-worker and on her cell phone the entire time. We had to ask for more water three times and waited 15 minutes for her to bring us the check. I would definitely not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Poor food and service....enough said.

    Pseudo-Mexican, but good price

As a native Californian I've come to not expect much from New York Mexican restaurants, so as expected, the food was nothing noteworthy. However, they do have a special until 7:30pm where you can get a margarita, appetizer, and entree for $10.

    Wicked!

Our night at the Blue Moon was brilliant! The place was clean, food was good and the atmosphere and staff were extremely friendly. (overwhelmingly looked after us!) As an Aussie, I'd reccomend a visit to all travellers as the drinks are good and cold, (try the rasberry margarita) and we've a good idea of what a cold drink should be!!

    A Gaseous Delight

We really enjoy the this place. Its TexMex and the food is quite good and the portions are good size. The burritos are large and in charge, the combo plates are reasonably priced and they are def large enough to share btwn two people. There are several things that bring us back,- I personaly cant get enought of their refried beans and the bartender is the fella you want serving you at the bar. The happy hour specials are good..and the margaritas get ya tipsy quick..thanks to the bartender. We only go when he works, usually early shifts before they get busy.

    NYC's Hint of Mexico

Fabulous place for great food, friends and fun!!! An asset to NYC bar/restaurant scene! Excellent for lunch/brunch and dinner with a great late night bar scene!
