I stumbled upon Blue Ginger while I was walking to the subway from work on a Friday afternoon. I went in and ordered Disney roll (spicy tuna on the inside, eel and avocado on the outside, with eel sauce and spicy mayo drizzle and crunchies) along with other usual rolls. The Disney roll was absolutely incredible....I order that now with a few pcs of sashimi since it's a big roll. I've also never tasted bettter green tea ice cream. Service is mediocre but the food is great and at lunchtime theyget you in and out quickly, which is key. I tooksomeone here a couple of times and she also loved it.

Blue Ginger offers fantastic sushi at a very reasonable price, particularly for the area. The rolls are interesting and well prepared, and the non-sushi menu is sufficiently extensive to accomidate non-sushi eaters. I would defintely return.

I live a few blocks away and randomly stumbled upon this place a few months ago, right after it opened. I was pleasantly suprised with the food! The special rolls are very good, although slightly overpriced. The place is ok inside...they do not have a liquor license so be sure to bring your own! I recommend it for a quick, casual bite of really good sushi!

On my first lunch trek to Blue Ginger I ordered the Maki Combo which turned out to be sooo much food for the price. Not to mention that the food was excellent and the presentation was above average. The next time I ordered I had the Seared Tuna Salad and a miso soup and that was appropriate as a lunch item in terms of portion but also managed to be delectable. The Japanese tam-tam noodles with chicken was not the most flavorful of dishes but the addition of mushrooms made it a healthy, yet filling meal. However, I would advise against the noodles if you are looking for a savory special meal. The service is adequate but nothing spectacular. The atmosphere is that of a small restaurant so you can expect close quarters and smaller tables. The restaurant itself looks clean, neat and presentable. Probably a good idea if you are looking for a place to take a second or third date (not too intimate yet not so big that you cannot hear the person across from you).

We sort of stumbled upon blue ginger while we were in the neighborhood and decided to give it a try. as soon as we walked in, we were absolutely HIT with the smell of fish. it smelled like a fishing center! not the best smell. now, i understand that this is a sushi restaurant so obviously there'd be fish. but trust me, i've been to many, many sushi restaurants that haven't smelled like a fishing boat. we ordered gyoza and the jalepeno yellow fin tuna dish for appetizers. both were scrumptious. however, the entrees were such a huge, huge disappointment. my fiance ordered the ramen and i had the tempura udon. both were stunningly tasteless and bland--and we're usually not that picky of eaters at all! despite the yummy appetizers, our palates were unsatisfied and we will likely not return again.

This place is excellent. The food is very tasty and the place is very clean and nicely decorated. I hope they are a success. They've only been open a few months.

Happy to see an excellent sushi/japanese choice in the neighborhood. After moving to the west side, I've been a bit disappointed in the japanese choices. Either super $$$ or poor quality. Blue Ginger is clean, fresh, and yummy. Great customer service and quick delivery. Highly recommended.
