I loved it. The staircase and the dim lighting, highlighted with blue undertones definately set the mood for a dressy girls-night-out or any romantic date. Did not spend time looking at the cocktails but the $68 white wine we ordered made up for the service, which was not bad, but the waiter had a lot on his plate. The bread, was crusted and warm, exactly how I love it and the presentation and flavoring of the fish was exactly how I specially requested. I highly suggest this restaurant and would love to go back... not to mention the fact that the W hotel, is AMAZING- and they are all under one roof.

The service is okay at best, and everything is extremly over priced. With that being said the Sushi is some of the best that I've had. You name it I've been there. So far this is my #1 pick for spicy tuna. You can't help but feel important when you are there. The atmosphere is top notch. Plus during the day you can sit in front of the window and do some serious people watching while you drink your over priced martini. What could be better than that.

Love the staircase. Hated the limited bathroom space. Great for brunch and a snack near the windows watching the mob on Broadway pass by.....I recommend it for that special occasion pre-theatre.

Blue Fin is a place to try if you're in Midtown....but that's it. The ambiance is really what's going for this place, but the food is simply average. They offer a variety of sushi and I did enjoy the Shrimp roll, but the seafood was lackluster in flavor and the greens were too dry. If you want sushi, go elsewhere in the city. The prices are also highfor the quality of food.

Oysters as appetizers were very good, but main meals and serivce were dissapointing. We were seated timely w/ reservations, but had to wait 10min. ordered appetizers including some sushi & rolls - not impressed. our entrees took 60min. consolation was desserts, decadent well presented- too bad our meal wasnt better!

My girlfriend and I ordered the steak and chicken entrees respectively, and the food was not what I expected. The steak entree cost $33, and all you get is a small piece of steak that looks like an oversized nugget, and 4 onion rings. The chicken entree cost $25, and tastes like regular chicken from anywhere else! Both plates were decent at best. The only bright spot from the menu was the dessert, which was absolutely delicious! Bottom Line: The food is not that great, and does not justify the high prices. The only good things about the restaurant is the decor and dessert. Service is not even great, just decent.

To begin with, I am from NYC and love restaurants. My boyfriend chose this place for our anniversary. It was an amazing surprise. I have been to several of Steve Hanson's restaurants and have had a great night at all of them Steve Hanson's food and environment at all of his restaurants make it seem like you are at an event. He has not forgotten a single detail. The oysters were spectacular, the sushi appetizer special was just a party on the tongue; he big eye tuna was an amazing blending of flavors and the dorade will make you eat more than your stomach can hold. On top of all of this, the bar offers creative, fantastic drinks. Blue Fin is totally worth the expense; and how can you go wrong with a great live jazz band as your background music :)
