    Good promise but...

My friend and I were waiting for our play to start when we decided to go somewhere for a small lunch. I had heard good things about Blue Fin, so I suggested it. We came in and the hostess seemed nice enough. She told us that the brunch items all came with drinks and coffee/tea. We ordered at 1:15 and our waiter made us wait for 10 minutes before he bought our water glasses. I guess they only rinsed out their glasses for brunch, because ours reeked of eggs. There was no point getting a different glass because our waiter was apparently swamped (the restaurant was only half filled.) When it came time to our meal being served, my Caeser salad was over dressed but ok. My friend really liked her spicy tuna roll. The waiter came back while we were halfway done with our food not to ask if we enjoyed it but to rudely asked me what my question was. I was puzzled because I didn't have a question and I kind of wondered if my waiter was stoned or something. When I told him I didn't have any questions, he left in a huff saying he had come all the way back here to answer my question...ooookay. My friend and I ate fast and before I was done with my salad he came back with the check and said "You guys are seeing a play right?" Whoa, eavesdrop much? He said he would bring us coffee 'later' but guess what? We didn't get our coffee. I felt really uncomfortable with my server. We actually left a good tip, more than he deserved truthfully. The food showed promise so I might come back but avoid this waiter.

    Solid

Went here with a party of 7 for dinner. Overall all of the food was very good, the sushi was particularly good. Decent service, but not excellent. The only thing bad about the place is the location and crowd. Very energetic and crowded. The bar is simply not large enough to house everyone that is waiting for tables as well as the usual crowd. The space is nicely decorated and well thought out, however the acoustics lead to a rather loud environment. This is excellent for groups and a casual night out. I wouldn't bother for a romantic evening or the like simply because of the hustle and bustle going on. Overall though the food is what should bring you back.

    Enjoyable Evening

We went on a Monday night, so there was no wait when we walked in. The bar had a decent crowd for a monday. The service was great, and the food was good. Tha atlantic cod was phenomenal, and the salmon, was well, tasted like salmon, but nothing special. Its a bit loud, but not to loud to have a conversation without yelling. I would recommend it to someone for a good, mildly priced, dinner/date.

    Excellent pre-theater dinner

We very much enjoyed our meal at Blue Fin. Service was excellent and very professional. Food was delicious and prepared exactly as ordered. Prices are, well, what you'd expect in the neighborhood. We sat upstairs which, while hardly silent, was much quieter than downstairs, and less trafficked. We would definitely go back.

    Best brunch choices!

Always eat upstairs-walk up the graceful stairs to a beautiful open yet romantic atmosphere. Terrific choices-eggs to sandwiches to bigger entrees. Service is always great-been our favorite for years! Going back, pre-theater, in two weeks.

    2nd time was a charm!

My second experience 7.22.09 at Blue Fin was better than the first visit 2 years prior. The food was excellent...unagi, striped bass and sorbet for dessert. My guest enjoyed the cod which was seasoned very well. Service was impeccable from the host(s) to the waitress. Atmosphere upstairs was very nice for a pre-theater early dinner. I would recomend and will go back again!

    Great sushi!

I went here with my mom for dinner one night. We called last minute but they were still able to get us a table in a timely manner. The sushi was the best I have ever had in my entire life, and that is saying a lot. I would recommend to anyone!
