The food here is delicious, but the lackadaisical service spoiled the experience for us. The servers are very friendly and pleasant, but don't know the first thing about the kind of service a great restaurant demands. I'd go back, but with a an extra helping of patience!

What an experience. I had made reservations for my wife and I to eat at the Blue Fin last night. From the minute we walked in, it seemed like a place which catered to its customers. The waitress was very courteous and was great to work with. The atmosphere was very trendy and chic. The crowd was young but mature. Now on to the dinner. I had the clam chowder and my wife had the crab cakes for starters. The clam chowder was great, but the crab cakes were off the hook. It was like a party in my mouth. For the main course, I had the striped bass and my wife had the salmon special which they were running that evening. We both loved the fish as it was prepared quite well with just the perfect amount of portions. For dessert we both had the creme brule, which was fantastic. They gave an assortment of blueberry, raspberry, and plain custard. Overall, we had a wonderful time at the Blue Fin and recommend it to everyone. Bon Apetite!!

Like others, we had reservations for a pre-theater dinner. We are from out-of-state; my husband found Blue Fin on the internet, but I was honestly a little apprehensive (on the internet? are you nuts?) It was the best dining experience we've ever had in the City. Every single thing -- the waitestaff, food, ambience -- made us feel special. Jeez -- he's still talking about the fancy bathrooms! We'll be back.

I have now gone to Blue Fin several times, as I am an avid theater go-er, and always find it hard to find fresh innovative restaurants in the theater district. I never have trouble finding great Italian places, but when you want something a little different, it is difficult to separate the tolerable mainstream fare from the polished and quite extroadinary - So, when I found Blue Fin, I held on to as if it had a sign up for Closing. Within the past month, I have been 3 times! I, myself, am a person who needs the decor to be appealing, and the architecture at BF is eye catching- It has an industrial look that is complimented by glass walls and a very interesting mid air art work as you walk up the stairs. The food is best said as being alot of fun- the sushi is out of this world- the triple eel dragon roll simply melts in your mouth and the interesting flavors of chilaen sea bass with sweet miso glaze and shrimp roll with curry sauce all tantalize your taste buds--- and please, do not have this experience without have the BFellini (you will never be satisfied by a regular bellini again), or the tasting of creme brulee! I now know that lavendar is not just for the bath tub. If you can, request NICK to be your server- he is an aspiring model, and you can get some quality time with him before you see him on the billboard in times square! Bon Apetit!

We searched pages of reviews on this site, and finally settled on Blue Fin for my birthday celebration last night. I'm so glad we did! The second we walked in the host knew exactly who we were and our table was prepared immediately in the more quiet upstairs (the stairs really are beautiful as another reviewer mentioned). Our table set for 8 people was nowhere near other tables, there's nothing worse than an overcrowded restaurant, the Blue Fin is not one of them! Our waiter was extremely nice and helpful, the food was WONDERFUL. I had the crabcake for an appetizer, and it was honestly the most delicious I have ever tasted. It looks small, but is very meaty and satisfying. Everyone enjoyed their entrees, and for dessert we all shared the strawberry rhubarb pie and a peach dish, not to mention they give you complimentary cookies including these chocolate squares, all I can say about all of it is "yummy"!! I definately recommend this beautiful, trendy yet classy restaurant to everyone, and will be returning again myself.

The staircase is amazing, the cute boy at the host desk is beautiful, the girl behind the bar could be a little more friendly, but the sushi is fantasic, overpriced yes, the drinks are like $11, but the feeling you get walking down the staircase makes it all worthwhile.

Blue Fin is the true gem of times square. Once inside and up the beautiful wave staircase, I was impressed to find a host who greeted me by name. Our server was fantastic with superb recommendations (including the 3 eel dragon roll). The food was flavorful and as my wife said about her Hazlenut crusted skate fish, "phenomenal". We were able to enjoy our meal (including a fabulous Banana Almond Tart for dessert) before we went off to the theater. Our visit was prompted by a recommendation from a friend and we will definitely be back.
