Ordering a burger from a fast food joint would have been better. This was sloppy, old, cold and just gross.

After my favorite neighborhood burger place closed (The Burger Joint on 20th and 3rd) I have been looking for something to replace it and Blue 9 definitely has. I had tried it a few years ago after it first opened and never returned but I wish I did sooner. Yeah, the decor is dilapidated but it's not really a place one goes to eat there and linger. The Blue 9 burger is fantastic. In theory a double cheeseburger with sauce should be a sloppy mess but the few times I've had it the patties never slipped off the bun and the sauce did not drip everywhere. The fries are okay for what they are but Blue 9 is definitely a place you go to for the burgers.

Back when I lived in a NYU dorm (4 years ago), Blue 9 was the place to go for great fresh burgers with friends. However, my recent visit was not very pleasant. The burger itself was overcooked and burnt and the fries are a soggy mess. The atmosphere is terrible- paint is peeling, seating is falling apart and the lighting is not good. What happened to this place? If you want a good burger go to shack shake on 23rd. Much better food.

ok i have to say this is THE best burger place ever. I am addicted to the point that i'm getting a little embarrassed to show my face there without some sort of disguise. (sometimes i put my hoodie up and wear my glasses). the burgers are absolutely delicious- bun fluffy, lettuce/tomato/onions crisp. cheese peeking through the sides ever so gracefully. the mango chili sauce is phenomenal and now i don't know if i can eat a burger without it. nothing can compare to blue 9 burger. fries are a little soggy- but i just dip them in the mango chipotle sauce....MMMMMM! go here now people!!

Burgers were really greasy, didn't taste fresh. French fries were soggy, possibly because of the way they are cut. Also, they forgot to make my shake. Not a great burger experience in the city. Not a nice sit down atmosphere either. Pretty dingy lighting and seating areas.

Definitely the best burger in the East Village. Fresh ingredients, very affordable, and sooo satisfying. I wouldn't call it a destination spot, but you should definitly try it if you're in the neighborhood.
