We were recommended to this place by a New Yorker living here in UK. Walked down Sunday evening to find it shut. Looked a little ordinary from outside but we thought we'd still try. Arrived late on Friday without a reservation to find the place happening & buzzing! Had to wait an hour in the bar area which was fine then sat down to eat. Ordered a staek to share between 2 and half a cow arrived on a plate cooked to perfection! Everything was perfect even the fries tasted better here and onion rings looked great in a tower. I totally recommend this place. Great food, great value, attentive service. It was a "real" none touristy taste of New York where real New Yorkers go on a date or to impress a client. I will return on next visit probably to eat twice since unlike other eateries it was not overpriced for the portion or quality and it did not disappoint in any way unlike so many others!

If you like to be seated late, unfriendly/unhelpful service and loud 70s music ringing in your ears, this is the place for you. Food was good, nothing exceptional and manager friendly as I compained about the awful service on the way out, but I am appalled that a place of the stature/cost can get away being this mediocre ... and truly some of worst service I have had anywhere.

Went on a Sat night to BLT and had a 9pm reservation. We didn't get seated until 9:50pm, which was completely unacceptable. We complained a couple of times and finally were offered drinks by the manager. I've never seen so many people complain in one place about the service; they were running approx one hour behind. Finally got seated and they offered us some free appetizers for our wait, our waiter did not do a good job on taking care of us, he took our order and I never saw him again, had to ask multiple times for water, had to send my steak back b/c it was too rare. The food was good I have to admit though. We went here to celebrate our anniversary and for desert they song happy b-day to me. And it wasn't even my b-day; the manager and servers were completely disorganized. The couple next to us was complaining also about the service and the wait. The manager was nice and they did try to resolve things, they did offer us gift certificate, which was the right thing to do since all the problems we had. If they didn't offer us the gift certificate I wouldn't considering going back... NYC has a lot better steakhouses in this price range and better service

Decor is a nice change for a steak place, but nothing exceptional when compared to many better NYC restaraunts. What was good was good, but as someone who never sends anything back, over the course of one meal we had to send back one steak (out of 4-all ordered medium rare, this one was rarer than rare) the hash browns were way, way over seasoned. My double espresso was more like a half a cup of strongish coffee. (also sent back). NY has countless GREAT steakhouses in the same price range. I can name at least 10 off the top of my head I would prefer before going back to BLT again.

BLT Steak is an attractive, stylish restaurant decorated in muted, neutral earthtones. The low ceiling and hardwood floors contribute to make the noise level extremely high to the point that one must almost shout. Tables are generously sized and well spaced. The greeting staff was very gracious but the service leaves a bit to be desired. While the waiters and waitstaff were all very nice the room was somewhat chaotic and understaffed for this busy lunchtime crowd. The food arrived promptly but many times our waiter had to be prompted. Their seemed to be a lack of supervision by a maitre d' on the floor. However, the food helped make up for this.. For appetizers my fiancee had an excellent ceaser salad with great parmeasan flatbread My tuna tartare was deliciously fresh and dressed well with soy and wasabi. The cheese gougeres are enormous muffin sized delights. For mains we shared the filet mignon which was perfectly cooked. This was the best I've ever had. Generally, filet tends to be mushy with little flavor. However, this had real depth of flavor and texture. The potatoes au gratin were a bit greasy and more like potatoes with cheese melted over them rather than au gratin, but still tasty. Desert was an excellent blueberry lemon meringue tart. Portions were excellent. All in All BLT Steak takes the steakhouse experience to a more refined level. It was highly enjoyable and worth going back too again.

Dined at BLT Steak last week. Nice atmosphere, good cocktails, great apps and sides. Very poor service and my girlfriend's filet was severely overcooked. We arrived one hour early for our rez and were seated 35 minutes late. When we sent her filet back, our server's attitude dropped even lower than before and he returned 20+ minutes later with her meal. My strip was excellent and the sommelier made an excellent (though pricey) selection. If you are fortunate enough to get a different server than we did, and your steak is cooked to order than I would certainly recommend BLT Steak. But for the money ($385) this was not a memorable dinner for two.

Great food, the apps and sides were amazing. I had the veal chop, very good, my wife had the filet, also good. Great cocktails and very cool space. The meal will cost, but I say its worth it.
