I went to BLT Burger for the first time today, and I have never experienced a more friendly wait staff then you will find at BLT Burger. My roommate and I were thoroughly impressed with this classic style burger restaurant. If you like shakes, burgers, and fries, you will love BLT Burger.

Maybe I just love this place because Chat 'N' Chew Used to be in the same space, but I had an awesome experience at this new joint. Although the wait was long (but was expected), my waiter was really great. Didn't screw up one thing and we ordered a lot. The medium rare burger was perfect (and SO cheap), the spiked milkshakes were heaven, the sweet potato fries were insane (as were the regular and waffle), the onion rings were delish...even the coleslaw was perfect. And everything was so damn cheap! I certainly hope this place sticks around. Will absolutely be back.

Okay, we've now been here three times. And we won't be going back again. The hamburgers just aren't that special. They aren't tasty, big, juicy, meaty. There is nothing special about them at all. They're dry and they get lost in the bun. If you order a cheeseburger, you won't taste the meat at all. I really wanted to like this place and the first time I went I did. It got worse with each subsequent visit. There are several better burgers within walking distance: Bar 6, the Cedar Tavern, the Corner Bistro and, perhaps the best, Chumley's. BLT Burger doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same breath. Their onion rings are more like tempura than real honest to god o-rings. They were tasteless. The pie desserts are good, however, so it's not a total wash. It's a shame.

Burgers are alright but their approach to fries and onion rings need serious overhaul. My shake was in a pure liquid form by the time they brought it to me. Obviously, not all the kinks were ironed out, eh?

The delivery service was so poor, at one point I turned to my girlfriend and asked if maybe it was a joke and we were on candid camera. First off, I was on hold for 10 minutes just to place the order. Then an hour and half after I placed the order I got a call reconfirming my credit card info which was recorded incorrectly. Then I got a call a half an hour later asking what my apartment number was. When the food finally came it was soggy and multiple items were missing (a coke, a side dish, etc.). When I called to tell the woman (same woman all along) that things were missing, she said that they weren't! This is when I lost it and told them to either credit me or have the missing items at my house... fast. It's just not worth it with all the other good burgers and delivery in the area.

I've never had much urge to go online and write a review, but following my experience last night I feel compelled to express my indignation. It being a Saturday night, my girlfriend and I decided to stay in and thus ordered a couple of cheeseburgers and a fries. We waited for more than an hour and a half, our hunger and anticipation growing exponentially. When the food finally arrived the burgers were so lousy I almost cried. Literally. I'm a grown man, but when I unwrapped the foil and saw the sloppy mess of a burger -- the bun smushed, soggy with mayo, wilted lettuce -- a knot formed in my throat. And then when I bit into said burger and found it as tough and tasteless as an old boot the tears started welling in my eyes. And the fries, the saving grace I hoped, but alas: soggy, under cooked, a disaster. I think the meal cost us, including tip, a little under a thousand dollars. We shoved the remaining food into the bag in which it had been delivered and threw it into the street. "I'm so disillusioned," my girlfriend said. I was too, but I couldn't bring myself to speak. We sat in the darkness of our apartment listening to the blips and growls of our hungry bellies and held each other late into the night.

The burger, fries (all types), chili, onion rings & cole slaw are all first rate & delicious. The soda & beer seclection terrific, but the ice cream & thus the shakes are mediocre or cloyingly too sweet. Laurent, go to the shake shack & see how Danny's taste. Better ice cream will help. Service has improved slighly, this is after the front of the house realized that the kitchen couldn't deal with a full restaurant. The order takers mean well, but the expediters bring out what they want, when they want & if they get the order right? Ok or not OK, they don't really care. The food is darn good, but I would like to see a little less .05 & .10.....a buck more for the waffle fries & some of the bottle soda is $.50 more. The classic, fries & soda is $11 a real buy, but it does not say (add $1 if you want waffle fries or add $.50 if you want a bottle soda.). We will be back.
