Blockheads

We went for a quick meal w/ our three year old and it ended up being an all-night event due to the SLOW service. I thought that after waiting so long for our food that anything would taste great. I was wrong...the food was just okay at best.

I've been living in manhattan for a while now, and as most of the locals know, based on our schedules and the size of our kitchens, it's hard to find time or the motivation to actually prepare meals, so we rely on delivery a lot.... Mexican food is one of my favorite delivery choices.... I've tried a lot of different places, and BLOCKHEADS to me has the BEST burritos around! PERIOD! My favorite is the "wet" chicken chile burrito, fresh rice, seasoned just right! with whole chicken breast, wrapped in a perfectly seasoned 12 inch burrito! To be honest though, everything on this menu is great! 2 thumbs up!

Without question, Blockheads has the best service of any restaurant I have ever eaten at in New York. From the moment we walked in the door, the waiters were attentive, fast and friendly. Water, chips, and salsa, arrived within seconds of sitting down, and all were relplenished immediately when finished. The waiter reminded us about our free dessert (which were unaware of) when we asked for the check. If only the food would compare. I am dissapointed by the other reviews which claim the food is good. It just goes to show that the average person has no concept of what authentic Mexican food should taste like. This food is not authentic! I ordered the Chicken Fajita Burrito. The menu said that the chicken was marinated, but it did not taste marinated. The menu also said that the burrito came with some kind of special sauce, but instead, it came filled only with chicken, lettuce, and tomato and tasted very bland. The salsa was bland and salty and obviously came from a gigantic vat which had been purchased at a discount club. I liked the friendly customer service so much that I will definitely eat there again if I am just in the mood for a drink and an appetizer, however I will not eat a full meal there ever again. It is obvious that Blockhead's food is designed to cater to urban sociallite fratboys, which is a tragedy considering its potential to be one of the best Mexican restaurants in town.

Good, cheap mexican food. The service was good and the waiters were attentive. Very casual, but clean. We both had burritos. I recommend ordering them"wet" with sauce and adding guacamole. Will return!

Blockhead?s is a well-rounded Mexican establishment. The food is decent, and they promote incredible deals. However, there is more than meets the eye to these so-called ?deals.? I am convinced after being served many brunches here, that the margaritas are tequila-less for the most part. I?ve gobbled down five and all I got was a frozen headache. ?All you can drink champagne or mimosa? translates into ?All you can drink carbonated moonshine or orange juice.? Do not even try a mojito here. I was risky and took a chance ? what a train wreck of an attempt from the bartender. Food is always good, but do not go here for the specials or drinks.

WOW I loved it. great food and great wonderful service

This is my fave casual place to go for dinner! They have an amazing special that includes a drink (margarita or corona) and meal + dessert that's only 11.95!!! And the food is great! I would eat there everyday,,,stay away from the plain quesadillas though. They leave much to be desired!
