New phone service
just ordered my once a week delivery order. Love everything. But they now have some new answering service that takes your call and I find it extremely annoying having to tell my name address and phone every time i call now. They used to know the address by the number. maybe it streamlines the order for the restaurant but its annoying to me!

Just the ticket!
People who want a good value and some decent food should absolutely come to Blockheads. You get what you pay for. I am a loyal Blockheads customer, and as long as there food stays consistent (which it always is) I will continue to be so. PS- I am a big fan of the Nachos Grande.

waitress perspective
There are many complaints about Blockheads service, and YES the service is not great but allow me to explain a few reasons why: 1- Margaritas are about $3, so calculate how much the average tip is. There is not much inspiration to run around. 2- morning shifts are about 7 hours, night shift are 8-10 hours. THERE IS NO BREAK FOR LUNCH OR a moment to rest our feet. 3- people often work doubles! triples! and quadruples! meaning we often work morning, night, then next morning and night, and even next morning. not much time to do anything but sleep, and if you refer to reason 2... you can guess there is much less time to eat. 4- Blockhead owners do not want to hire anyone to bus tables or make drinks. Meaning a server has to be a barback, waiter, busboy, and bartender all at the same time. 5- no matter what time we close, our server hourly wage only gets calculated until about 11 or 12pm, so there is often an hour or two that doesnt get paid every day we work. 6- but you know what? those hourly pays don't matter much because our paychecks often come to us VOID, meaning that we pay hundreds $$ a week to taxes. 7- Shift meals are charged from our check, every shift we work. Even if we do not eat. I have worked at various Blockhead locations and the only reason why i could endure is because of my co workers. The 1 dishwasher and couple of cooks work hard as hell for even less money. Some Blockhead locations get a clientele that make my reason #8 most important. 8 -customers often come to be served $3 margaritas and exert their own stresses of life on us servers. They treat us as if our sole purpose on this planet was to serve them. and have become accustomed to getting anything they want from Blockheads by complaining. It is NOT a high end restaurant. we constantly have to run after people that try to not pay their bills, we often have customers threaten our lives. If you have a waiter approach you in a way that is less than welcoming, please consider that this is an honest person; maybe not pleasant, but honest.

Not bad at all
I feel like I went to a different restaurant than the reviewers below... I actually had a great experience here. The place was crowded but the hostess sat us within 5 minutes. Our server was attentive. The food was very good; I had the spinach burrito and my bf had some kind of big Mexican salad). Not to mention the never ending chips and salsa. For the amount of food we got, it was a great deal. Definitely one of the better cheap, fun places around. (We didn't get them this time, but I know that they also have great margs for super cheap, like $3 each.)

Horrendous delivery
I'm a huge fan of Blockheads normally (I left a good review for the midtown east location) but the one on the UES was beyond dissapointing. We ordered dinner from here last week and waited an hour and a half for our food. After three calls to the restaurant inquiring about our food, I realized they had 1st) written down my address wrong-- ie 2nd avenue instead of 3rd avenue and 2nd) the delivery guy had gotten completely lost trying to get from 2nd to 3rd avenue. I didn't even know that was possible but it happened and our food was cold by the time it was delivered. Such a dissapointing experience since the midtown location is so great. DO NOT order delivery from here unless you have an hour and a half to spare and you like your food cold (I don't prefer either).

Awful Stuff
This is not restaurant quality food. And the price is just crazy. $12 for a burrito? C'mon, get real. In this bad recession there are real dinners offered at real restaurants for less than this price. You can make burritos like these, but which taste better and have fresher ingredients, for $2.50 in your own kitchen. Skip these dumps and find yourself a better and cheaper burrito, It's easy.

Bad Experience!
Save your money! Don't eat at the 2nd Avenue/50th Street locaation. The service is terrible and the manager is rude. They don't care about their customers, just about making money. They won't get any of my business again.
