Great drinks, reasonable prices
I love finding a place that I can eat and drink and not spend a fortune. I have found that at Blockheads! They have a drink that is soooo yummy: The Black Flower--Sangria swirled into frozen margarita--YUM! Drinks are reasonable priced. The food is good, with large portions, also reasonably priced. There is only a small indoor dining area, that gets filled quickly, but during nice weather there is also a large outdoor dining area. My last visit here, we decided to dine outside. We were just served our food, when the waitress came over to warn us that it was likely that there were going to be showers, and asked us if we wanted to close out our check. We decided not to, and take our chances. Well, we should have listened to our server--the rain started slowly, and finally began to pour. We had an umbrella, so we finished our meal and drinks. The entire time, our waitress continued to be helpful and courteous--from under her own umbrella. One warning, for the outdoor dining, smoking is allowed. So if you are sensitive to smoke, beware.

Brunch worthy of a Hangover
It's very hard to find a place that serves awesomely good food during brunch, has a nice atmosphere, and plays awesome music that usually conjures memories of the 90's... but this place does Food Quality- some of the best mexican food round town, and the specials that come along with unlimited mimosas are surprisingly good and filling.(the comfortable and can still breathe filling, and not the barely can move kind) Atmosphere- usually tends to be a young crowd(mid 20 something), and especially at this Blockheads considering it's proximity to Columbia U. Value & Service- the meals are good, and the many times I've been there, the service has always been friendly.(if enough people order an unlimited mimosa special, they leave a pitcher of mimosa at your table) It's bit of a walk, especially if you're recouping from a long night, but it's worth the extra blocks of walking to get to this hangover haven.

Good delivery, pleasant service
I've always been a fan of Blockheads, but have only recently discovered the UWS location. I was impressed. We've called for delivery a few times, and each time, we've had a pleasant experience on the phone (I hate calling places and the person on the other end is yelling and barking while you're trying to order - no so here). The delivery was prompt, the orders were correct, and the food was good. Could have been a little warmer, but microwaves do the trick. I love the brown rice/tofu/soy substitution options for burritos. Tough to find healthy, quality take out on the UWS.

We love this place
The food is fine, portions are large, drinks are strong and SUPER cheap, the servers and managers are sweet as can be, and this is one of our favorite places. Love the frozen margaritas and the burritos. Haute cuisine? No. Perfection in every way? No. A great, relaxed place to have an affordable night, and leave full, tipsy, happy, and with plenty of money still left in your wallet? Yes. Love it.

Overpriced generic burritos!
I'm kicking myself for spending $30 on two bland-tasting burritos. Blockheads has gone downhill (and wasn't too high to begin with). The only appeal is that you can substitute tofu or soy cheese in any of their burritos/quesadillas. But their staff doesn't all seem to know that - we had to get a manager to agree to an option that is printed on the menu! They also charged more for guacamole "inside" the burrito rather than "outside" - but watch out, because that's not on the menu. The response when I pointed that out was "it's not my fault." They've lost 2 customers...
