Pleasantly surprised.
Never went to this diner just round the corner, it was finally time last night. The frozen Margaritas surprised us! they were nice indeed. Food was good Mexican, nice salsa , nothing out of way though. All in all, it's definitely a better place to grab reasonably priced dinner with friends, chat and enjoy.

no frills no fuss but cozy spot
My Friend and i go to this place at least once a month. i love the sangria and the mexican chicken wrap. the place is also cozy and usually pretty lively.

Good Cheap Mexican!
I love Blockheads-- the food is good, the drinks are great, and the value is really not something you can easily find elsewhere in the city. I've been here numerous times and keep returning because its a great place to go when you just want cheap drinks, cheap (good) mexican food, and an unpretentious atmosphere.

great drinks, poor food
just stick to the drinks here. they're at great prices and are yummy. the food is not good. the quesadilla is especially bad.

Great Local Cheap Mexican
I love this blockheads so much, I have it delivered more than I am able to go there. The last time I was there was during the Jalepeno recall. I get allergic reactions to anything pickled. Strange, I know. but they were using canned pickled jalepenos, and they left it off for me. The alcoholic drinks are potent and during happy hour, cheap. I love the Zippy lunches bc you get a soda, chips and salsa, and a burrito for less than $10. I love this place, and so do a lot of locals bc it stayed open even after the collapse of the neighboring building last year.

Good Nachos, Awkward Service
FOOD Nachos Supreme are awesome an explosion of flavors. I am guilty to say that I ate the entire platter, including the extra chips they give you. SERVICE The staff at the midtown location is a bit odd, awkward even. I left a tip for one of the servers after buying a drink, and she snatched it like a hawk so that nobody else could lay claim. When ordering for takeout, I was put on hold indefinitely, which was odd, because when I arrived at the restaurant (where I ordered directly), there were only a few patrons there. JUDGMENT I ordered nachos with grilled tofu (and cheese), just for the heck of it, not for any special dietary reasons. They give me tofu-based sour cream instead of real sour cream. Makes sense, right? Not really, if you consider that my nachos were oozing with real cheese...
