How Hungry Are You
I used to go to bleu regularly since the staff is so friendly. i would always order something and hoped everytime that the food improved. it never has. the burgers they serve are good, and so are the chicken fingers. that's not saying much. the decorations are overdone. the only nice thing is the outdoor patio if you want drinks only.

Decent but usually a last choice...
Bleu was once a regular in our brunch rotation when we first moved to the area. Now, we only dine here, or order delivery, once in a rare blue moon, when we’ve completely exhausted other options & want to change up our same ’ol, same ’ol. Why is this our last resort place? Well, for a long time, the menu was rather limited, & what they had tasted all right but not fabulous, especially given the prices. Recently we realized that they’ve changed their menu, so we enthusiastically gave them another shot by ordering delivery. I ordered a warm apple salad that I saw here on Menupages.com. Well I guess they no longer had it on the menu but rather than telling me that on the phone, they sent me their pear salad, which I normally wouldn’t have minded, but it comes drenched in gorgonzola cheese, which I DO mind, can’t stand the stuff! (To their credit they’ve since updated their Menupages menu & that item is no longer there to confuse orderers & order-takers). The rest of the food we got from the new menu was – eh, just acceptable. It PAINS me greatly to not give this place a glowing review – I LOVE Washington Hts & try to support all the neighborhood businesses I can! And I will certainly keep Bleu in mind as an option for the future, I wish them the best of luck. But I just don’t have raves for this restaurant’s food at this time. I will say that the space is pretty cool so maybe it’s best just for drinks…?

Great burger!
I have been to this place a lot in the past year and I haven't ever had a bad experience. There is a tiny bit of a language barrier with the wait staff but other than that, its a great place. I love eating outside. The inside part is OK but teeny and I don't like places where I feel like I am having dinner with the people I don't know, right next to me. That's NYC dining for you though! I haven't had ANY bad food there and we've been for brunch, lunch and dinner or just for a burger! I don't know what kind of beef they use but it is one of the best burgers I have ever had! I love the onion soup, the hummus platter, the goat cheese salad, the steak, chicken, pasta. Anyway, I would give atmosphere a 5.0 if I loved it as much sitting inside but I just don't. It's still a fun hang. I am thinking of having a bridal brunch outside there.

Pleasantly surprised
I've heard bad things about Bleu since moving to the neighborhood a few years ago so I hadn't tried it until recently, when I heard it has new owners. I didn't have any expectations but the food ended up being great. I've made several trips back since. Service was friendly, although could have been more attentive. A little overpriced but I'd rather spend my money at a neighborhood spot than something in midtown.

Had High Hopes
I took my boyfriend here thinking this would be a lovely spot for a late lunch on the patio. However, it took a long time before someone brought us menus, then drinks, then incorrect drinks, then food. The food was bland, and unimpressive. I was disappointed that this wasn't better, because I really was looking forward to finding a cute spot in my neighborhood.

overpriced
I've eaten a Bleu once before a few years ago and though I did not like it much then I heard the restaurant improved so I went there for dinner. I waited forty minutes for my entree, which was a bit too bland, drinks were subpar but what was really annoying was that the prices were so high. For over twenty dollars a plate, I would expect a dinner a bit better than diner food.

great food and service
I have been going to this restaurant since it opened about 8 years ago. There was a point a few years ago that the quality of the food went down - but since they have changed the menu (and I assume the management), the food is fantastic and the service is exceptional. I always take out-of-towners to Bleu. The decor is funky, the music hip and the food is wonderful.
