For a very long time this place got away with overcharging for bad to mediocre food. Now that new places that actually care about quality have been opening up in the neighborhood, I'm hoping Bleu feels the heat for taking people for granted for so long. I mean really, how do these guys get off charging more than Mario Batali for a plate of pasta? And their pasta is unappetizing Washington Heights has better options and your jig is up!

My first visit I fell in love right away with the dark, almost sexy Moroccan-theatrical like decor (you feel a little like your in Morocco, a little like youre hanging out backstage), the warm apple salad is to die for, they have a nice wine selection, but I ended up waiting forever for my steak...and here's why- My medium rare was cooked well done. When told how it was over cooked I was actually yelled at by the server (who refused to do anything about it)and I had to ask for the manager who then took it away and replaced it, not offering any kind of composition, but did at least apologize. All other times I have found Bleu to be a good experience. The owner himself is sometimes the server (which I prefer over the earlier mentioned man), the bartender is friendly, and they have an excellent selection in both beer, wine, and liquor. And that warm apple salad is....well, you should just get it.

We ordered in from Bleu last night. While I really like the atmosphere when I go there, and have found their food to be good, I paid $20 for pasta that was fine, but definitely not worth it. When I saw the portion size, I was shocked and almost wanted to return it to them. Considering the neighborhood, charging such high prices is a bit much. I will most likely not be ordering from them again.

For $14.50, brunch included a Bloody Mary (OK, but not great), juice, coffee, mushroom and asparagus omelette, toast, and potatoes. The omelette was cooked to perfection, as were the potatoes. I've also had several very good dinners here from the prix fixe menu. The setting is relaxing and comfortable.Bleu Evolution is not too noisy, and there is no rush.

This place could be SO good--but it isn't. The food is mediocre at best, and very overpriced. A plate of indifferent pasta was about $20. The neighborhood is in desperate need of a few good restaurants, and to date, there are none. Some like 107 West, but it's merely the best of a bad lot. Kashmir is passable, if you ask the waiter to put spice in the food. PLEASE--any potential restauranteurs--think about coming to the so-called Hudson Heights section of Washington Heights. We need you!

i had a poor experience at this restaurant. the waiter was ridiculously slow and it wasn't even busy. people that were seated after we had put our order in got their food before we did, and we certainly didn't order anything special. he charged us for a sprite that we had to send back because it was soda water, not sprite, and i had to ask twice for a coffee refill, and at no point did he refill the empty water glasses. when we got our food a full hour after we arrived, my order was wrong. first he told me that the menu said "salad or fries" when it specifically said "with fries" then finally said he would bring out some fries. After 25 minutes, we were finished eating and he still had not brought more fries. the food was good, but i will never go back.

I had come with friends hearing great things about it. AS was said, the environment was excellent and the food was rather tasty. The warm apple salad is something to drool over. However, the service was slow, rude and did not listen. I ordered a steak medium-rare and it came out well done. When I commented about it and asked for a new one, I was argued with then snickered at by the waiter. Then once the second steak came out it was still over cooked to a medium/medium-well done. This saddened me, for the food was good and the atmosphere is everything I look for when going out.
