    Brunch

Today four of us had brunch. Two had duck, one had a fritatta, one (me) had quiche. Everyone liked his/her dish. Mine was the best quiche I've ever eaten. I was ecstatic. With tip, the bill was $15 each. We didn't have liquor which I know adds $$ to a meal. We've been to this restaurants often, but hadn't been recently simply because there are now so many options in the "hood." However, I don't agree with the complaints I've heard. I think it is great value, nice atmosphere, rather quiet, and in the summer the garden is superb.

Disappearing waitress - avoid this place!

I used to go to this place ten years ago when I visited friends in the neighborhood and loved it. But I've avoided it since I moved to the neighborhood three years ago because it's always deserted. Now I know why! I went the other day for lunch, and I was the only person there. The pasta was tough and leathery and the meat totally without seasoning. Then the waitress left the building to run her errands while I was eating! I had to hand the cook a twenty and leave. I will never go back.

    I usually don't do this

I reluctantly decided to order take out after the previous time i ordered and it was missing an item. This time i ordered penne with grilled chicken and broccoli. I was extremely clear with the woman who took my order and repeated myself 4 times. Still My order came with no grilled chicken. When i called back the woman blamed it on the chef and said they would send out a new order. When the food came they requested i give them back the order without the chicken(very tacky..what are they going to do eat it?) Then when i finally sat down to eat my simple meal it was unappetizing! I hated every bite but was was forced to eat it what I could ..out of frustration and hunger. The pasta was overcooked and the chicken was not up to par. They charged $19 for this meal. I will never eat from this place again.

I think you got Ur numbers mixed up!

Being a newby in town I've been dipping and dabbing with delivery from various restaurants ( well the 3 that will deliver past 181st st.) I ordered a rolled salmon salad and Mediterranean Tapas which were both delish! I must agree with the comments about overpricing though, my total for the two items was a whopping $21.00! I would order again , but if I was in the mood for an actual dish I probably would have to save up for it! o well overall great food , and the price ,well its " too damn high!"

If you like poor, overpriced food...

For a very long time this place got away with overcharging for bad to mediocre food. Now that new places that actually care about quality have been opening up in the neighborhood, I'm hoping Bleu feels the heat for taking people for granted for so long. I mean really, how do these guys get off charging more than Mario Batali for a plate of pasta? And their pasta is unappetizing Washington Heights has better options and your jig is up!

    Mixed Emotions

My first visit I fell in love right away with the dark, almost sexy Moroccan-theatrical like decor (you feel a little like your in Morocco, a little like youre hanging out backstage), the warm apple salad is to die for, they have a nice wine selection, but I ended up waiting forever for my steak...and here's why- My medium rare was cooked well done. When told how it was over cooked I was actually yelled at by the server (who refused to do anything about it)and I had to ask for the manager who then took it away and replaced it, not offering any kind of composition, but did at least apologize. All other times I have found Bleu to be a good experience. The owner himself is sometimes the server (which I prefer over the earlier mentioned man), the bartender is friendly, and they have an excellent selection in both beer, wine, and liquor. And that warm apple salad is....well, you should just get it.

    Overpriced

We ordered in from Bleu last night. While I really like the atmosphere when I go there, and have found their food to be good, I paid $20 for pasta that was fine, but definitely not worth it. When I saw the portion size, I was shocked and almost wanted to return it to them. Considering the neighborhood, charging such high prices is a bit much. I will most likely not be ordering from them again.
