    Great food, poor service

I had the nonna maria slice, which is mozzarella, basil, olive oil/grease, and marinara with a few small chunks of tomato. It is an amazing slice and only cost $2.50. The service is not good at all. I stood there for like 3 minutes. I was the only one in line and there were two people behind the counter and they just ignored me.

Go to Joe's for Pizza, BUT...

I know this is supposed to be all about who has the best slice but Bleecker Street's baked ziti is unbelievably fresh and good.

    the pizza is great

Seriously, the pizza is amazing. If you are looking for amazing service then go to a high end rest. If you are looking for the best pizza in town, especially for a few dollars, suck it up and stop complaining about the service. What do you expect?

    Best Pizza in NYC!

I'm a New Yorker and I know good pizza when I have it. This place has the best pizza ever!

    a slice with rude please

I keep going back to this place despite the now infamous rude service. Why? Because this is simply the best pizza in NYC. Their mushroom pizza has fresh mushrooms and the sauce is just right. The nonna maria is to die for. There is, however, one rude man who must be an owner or something. Other staff behind the counter are always helpful and nice. But that guy.... it's true, what a grump . I mean, relax, it's just pizza, yo. If the pizza weren't so good he'd be reason enough never to go there again.

Rude, gruff staff but a very good slice

Let me start by saying that it's a very good slice. However, the staff are so utterly unfriendly that it's nearly comical. Sometimes, just to avoid their bad vibes, I'll walk over to another pizza joint (Joe's). This is the type of place where you'll say "hi" and they'll look at you and simply ignore it. Say "thanks" and 9/10 it'll fall on deaf ears. The sole exception is an older man with a mustache who sometimes appears behind the counter, but don't confuse him for the elderly Eddie Monster who's usually manning the register.
