Old Time NY At Its Best
I've seen these restauarnt/taverns clsoe over the years, replaced by antiseptic, homogenous, Gap-like bars serving the young professional and bridge+tunnel crowd. How sad. This place not only serves great food at low prices, it also offers a sense of continuity with the past. I hope this place never closes.

great sandwiches and burgers
The Blarney Stone has been repeatedly profiled in the NYT and elsewhere with this being the first and I believe the last location. It's the place to go for takeout comfort food and the value is second to none (which is the reason the other locations had to shut down). The carved sandwiches and fresh grilled burgers are especially good.
