New Addition to My Burger Roster...

I consider myself a burger aficionado--I know that's not a novel self-title in this town. But one of the most important aspects about being such a burger fan is that you have to know where the best burger is in any given part of town (or, for that matter, the country). Today was my first time at Black Shack--I treated myself to a Black Shack burger, sweet potato fries, and a Pork Slap beer. Considering this area, I'd say the value was great. But more importantly, the burger and fries were delicious! Really well balanced burger-to-toppings flavor scenario going on, nice big flecks of salt on the lovely fries. Nice music, friendly staff, and the head chef Jeff was cool and checked in to make sure everything was up to par--which it most decidedly was. I'll definitely go back for more...

By FAR, best burger in Murray Hill

Absolutely fantastic burgers and fries. Head and shoulders above any other I've tried in the area. Fast, fresh delivery, excellent flavor and quality. Much better than the more expensive places around. The price is just an added bonus. The quality and flavor are what will bring you here.

    Love this place

I've gone twice recently and will definitely keep going back. The Western burger is great and so are the sweet potato fries. I'm normally not a huge fan of them but Black Shack's were excellent

    Great neighborhood burger

I received a coupon in the mail and thought hey why not try it out. The burger was great, but the sweet potatoe fries were the best, and to top it off they have Dr. Pepper on fountain. Perfect neighborhood hangover cure.

    Pleasantly Surprised

Heard good things, went in for a burger and was very happy with flavor, value and service. I also thought it was cool that they had chocolate fountain soda to add to the retro feel of their menu. If you're in midtown east and want a good burger look no further.

    Awesome!

Delivery was wonderful! The burgers were awesome, as were both fries and the salad! Not too heavy (!!) and perfectly flavorful. Finally a yummy, dependable burger place in Murray Hill! I have yet to eat in, but have walked by and imagine it is fun to eat there. Thank you, thank you!!

    Great burgers and shakes

If you're looking for a delicious greasy burger in Murray Hill, this is the place. No, it's not as good as Shake Shack, but it's way better than the 'diner' burgers otherwise available in the area, it's cheap, and delivery is always fast. Their vanilla shakes are close to perfect. The french fries are fine, but usually a little on the salty side.
