don't bother
Overpriced, small portions, flavorless beef. Decent onion rings.

shambolic
had tro try it and cross the street to get there. waste of 20 dollars. 2 dollars for about 4 oz of soda, no refill, onion rings a joke, burger just barely ok. been in this neighboorhood for 5 years and it is going down hill...this place truly makes me yearn for the old east village and not the new murray village. skip it

Burger tartar, anyone? But improving...
First time I went here, I ordered the giant Iron Horse Burger. It was a ridiculously thick double patty, with their delicious horseradish cheese, which would be, and should have been, great, but... it was RAW! I mean, it was What The Hell Were You Thinking-level raw. Barely browned on the outside. I was like, Is this a joke?? I sent it back, it came back a little better. Some basic burger-frying lessons are in order. And yes, I say burger "frying," because they have a griddle. You know, like at your local bodega. Which is fine for a grilled cheese, but if you are gonna sell yourself as a burger joint, um... invest in a GRILL. You know, with FIRE? Anyway, gave it a second chance, got the regular burger, and it was good. Much improved. The large order of onion rings ($6) was pretty paltry, though tasty. Best thing might be the beer choice. They put some thought into it. Nice selection or Euro and domestic high-end brews. Overall: their heart is in the right place, they just need to work on a few things. They are improving, though the griddle probably aint going anywhere. Give it a chance.

Black Iron Mess
There's medium rare and then there's raw beef patty in the middle. There's greasy burgers and then there's bread so soaked you couldn't pick it up. My excitement for a new burger joint in the hood turned to disappointment when i realized how little effort went into making this meal. My burger was so raw in the middle that i was afraid to continue eating. The onion rings were more like a clump of batter rather than rings. Don't even get me started on how much this cost me. This is the first time i've ever gone online to write a negative review...that's how bad it was. I'm all about supporting my local restaurants but i also expect a little love back. and this place had absolutely no love to give their customers.

Yum!! Really like it here
Maybe I shouldn't review a burger place when I haven't tried the burger... but the grilled cheese I had was positively super. Better than my mom makes, and that's saying something! It was so crispy and had the perfect amount of tasty cheese (not too much). Service is great! Everyone is so nice and very friendly. Will definitely return. You should try this spot.

Negative Reviewers off base
The negative reviewers need to chill out and get a grip. Who gets on a website and says something bad about a place that doesn't have anything bad to be said about it? I have been here twice. Once late for beers and tonight for burgers and a few beers. Both times I found the staff to be pleasant and welcoming. Tonight our waitress was fun, welcoming, professional, and cute to boot. I think the negative reviewers are what makes me cringe about NYC, this is a plus to the neighborhood, not a negative. Go watch sex and the city or get out of the neighborhood, this place is good.

Skip it!
Why would a new burger joint open featuring only burgers, but serving greasy, burgers? I was truly hoping this place would be decent since I live in the neighborhood and would love a good burger and beer joint since the demise of Mo Pickens. Unfortunately, a major letdown. There are so many better burgers in town like the Burger Joint, PJ Clarkes and Corner Bistro that this loud, way over-priced, uncomfortable place with lousy service will be gone in no time. Skip it!
