I liked it
The food is good, the prices are good and the staff are very easy going. I couldn't finish all my food. The portions are big.

consistently good and cheap
I've been going there for years - still don't understand why it's never busier. It's one of the best deals in this neighborhood for sure. The food is consistently good enough if you know what I mean. I have never been disappointed (and will never be wowed, but for $10 for dinner, don't expect to be). Love the spinach and chickpeas.

Ehhhh
we tried a few times. Food is below average. Too much sumac. Faol is poor. Hummus not very tasty. Chicken Keebob very good as is Falafael. Just not really any wow. ok in a pinch...

Pass Me the Hummus
I've lived in Fort Greene for 3 years, and this place has become my natural go-to joint when people want to eat out for dinner. The place is small and intimate, the staff is consistently polite, and, thanks to a BYOB policy, you can pair your affordable meal with an equally affordable bottle of Yellow Tail. And the food is delicious and comes in hefty portions that are ideal for sharing. The shrimp pizza is a garlic-lover's dream, the hummus is smooth and smokey, and the pita is so soft and fluffy that you might want to roll yourself in it and take a nap. I highly suggest you give this place a go.

It's the little things
We were so excited to eat there.... but, sadly, the Black Iris disappointed with mediocre baba ganoush, inedible hummus, sad baklava, and mystery gyro. Their Pita is delicious - fresh and fragrant, but it turns stale and hard in a mere 5 minutes. The shish and salad are delicious - the stars, but after suffering through wallpaper paste hummus, watery tahini, and finishing off with dry and stale baklava we realized it's about the little things. In a city with fantastic middle eastern cuisine i find it hard to understand what everyone raves about.

Best delivery in the neighborhood
I love Black Iris and probably order delivery at least once a week. The food is great - my favorite is the Shish Kebab and the hummus. I really like everything though.
