we love black iris. we eat in at least once a month, and get take out several times more. the staff is friendly and attentive. they're very kid friendly, and recognize and greet our son not only when we dine in, but often when we walk past on the street. the lentil soup is great, combo salad (choose 5) yummy, and hummus wonderfully smoky tasting. a neighborhood gem.

I first started eating here 4 years ago. When I moved out of the area, I missed the food! Now that I live here in Clinton Hill again, I have to say that I order delivery from Black Iris almost once a month. It is the delicious, fresh, fresh salads and the incredibly flavorful vegetarian options that I favor. However, the chicken gyro is also super fresh and great. I have never ever been unsatisfied. And the food isn't greasy at all. You finish feeling pleasantly full and satiated.

The place is very quaint and lovely. The waitstaff is also very nice. However, the food leaves a lot to be desired. The lamb sandwich had no flavor to it. Nor did the baklava. I left there very unfulfilled. Then to make matters worse, they don't accept credit cards which they do not tell you until you go to pay your bill. I will not be returning there again.

We eat at Black Iris at least once a month, and order in around every other week or so.... We have eaten everything on the menu. Contrary to the previous reviewer the dolma are good, and the Chicken Ouzi is Excellent. Its your common middle eastern fare with great flavor. We love the prices and I love eating in with my daughter when we just want something a bit healthier.

Ordered for lunch and was disappointed. It was quick-stop-style Lebanese food at dine-in prices. Babaganoush was pickley, baklava really dry. The whole meal was underwhelming. Won't eat there again.

I never had anything there that was even close to subpar. The food is of the utmost quality, delicious, and always fresh. Even the pita bread is made to order, and is out of this world! The leg of lamb is succulent and topped off with a fresh mint mayonnaise. The chicken sandwich is packed with tender juicy pieces of perfectly cooked, spice marinated chunks of delight. This place takes pride in their food and it shows 100%. The staff is always friendly and attentive. I often get delivery which is just as fresh as it is in the restaurant. Amazing quality and the best value in Fort Greene. Don't miss out on this place.
