Fabulous!
The espresso rubbed filet is impeccable every time and if you prefer a little diversity, definitely order the surf and turf with the filet and tuna! It has a delicious harmony that is indescribable. But make sure you start off with the crab cake, there are actual lumps of crabmeat that are not disguised by bread crumbs, as most restaurants tend to serve. I rarely order chicken out at restaurants, but my boyfriend had the pan roasted chicken and I must say, it was phenomenal with fantastic taste and sides to compliment it. Overall, black duck is consistent in its food and service. Try to go Friday or Saturday night when there is live music. And if you call to make a reservation make sure Lexi is performing, she is fantastic, and definitely sets the mood if you want a romantic evening out!

Great food and atmosphere!
I stumbled on this restaurant and was very pleasantly surprised. The food was terrific. I had the snapper and my boyfriend had the tuna and the filet minon appetizer. The portions were just right and the service was terrific. The atmosphere was also very enjoyable. Comfy chairs and a nice fireplace. Very warm and cozy. We were there on a Friday night and they had a really cool three piece jazz band. I highly recommend it!

New Happy Hour Spot
Just an FYI.. Great Happy hour my collegues and I stumbled upon it on 28th Street.. there is no sign so it's easy to miss ... but great deals for happy hour.. $6 martinis.. we were in heaven. The mini burgers were great and so was the calamari. Definitely worth going back..

Love this place
The food is really great and a great value too. What a find! The service is friendly and efficient. I'm going to make a point to become a regular at The Black Duck for more of the crab cakes and surf & turf. The bar scene is great after work too.

Breath of fresh neighborhood air
The food was excellent. I started off with the Carpaccio and my friend Michael had the "famous" crab cake. I had the filet at the recomendation of the bartender and my friend had the Duck (also recommended). It was well executed, not overdone and extremely tasty. The service by the bartender was impeccable. He not only recommended almost our whole meal perfectly, but he paired wines to match each course and made one of the best pre-dinner and after dinner cocktails I've had. I went back a week later (this past Wednesday) and he waited on me on the floor this time. He remembered what I drank, offered me a new recommendation since I asked for fish (I had the Bass, superb) and paired new wines for me to try, which he later wrote down on the back of his buisness card. The atmosphere is alright, a bit dull for me, lots of wood, pictures of ships, impressionist and post-impressionist art, but well lit. I haven't seen their "live jazz" yet, but the background music seemed fine if not boring. Nice place to take a date if you get a good table, but an even better place to take buisness guests. Ask for Matt!

Not recommended
I dined at this restaurant a few weeks ago with some out of town guests - the food was fair, the staff seemed immature, and when I called earlier that evening, I was told that there would be live music (there wasn't).
