    cold food

It's hard to rate food when everything coming out of the kitchen is cold--appetizer sent back for reheating; cold vegetables with entree though short rib was hot. Service is efficient & friendly. Now if only they could light a fire in the kitchen!

    Okay but overpriced

Food was okay but overpriced. Could use lower priced house wines and deserts could be a few dollars less. Service was very nice and for a bistro it wasn't too noisy which was very nice.

    Could be even Better

A nice, warm restaurant for its location. The service was very good. A nice menu and wine list however most bottles are priced mid to high range, no diversity for a value bottle. The steak was tough, too sauced and overly salted. The mussels seemed old as they were dry, bland and some were sandy and tasted off and we sent them back. The striped bass was wonderful but a little too much sauce as well. The food came out very fast making me wonder if it is prepared and reheated. A few tweaks and I feel this restaurant could go up a notch or two. I would not go back on my own account.

    Nice place

I picked this place out for date last Saturday night. First date with this woman, I was meeting her so I didn't want to pick a place that was too far from her. The place was quiet, the service was attentive, the food was really good. The menu is small and its a bit pricey, but it was still good. I also like the beer selection, although I just had some wine. Not sure why there are such bad reviews. I would go again.

    Used to be good

We used to love this little neighborhood bistro, but it was pretty bad the last time we were there. Slow, slow service and a real mixed bag in terms of food quality. I mean if a bistro makes you wait about 40 minutes for a hamburger, then cooks a medium rare hamburger to well done, you really can't send it back because you're starving. So that kind of ruins the whole meal. It could be a perfect spot and our neighborhood needs a little local splurge, but it just has that feeling that they are a little overwhelmed and can't quite deliver on the promise. It's like the staff is disconnected from the quality of food they are serving and what good service should be. They should simplify the menu to only a few signature items they can cook consistently well. Once they've done that, they can add a few specials.

    Unbelievably poor service

From the moment we walked in, the head waiter didn't give us a glance but told us coldly that someone would seat us even though he seemed in no rush to tend to another party. Our entrees came out in the middle of our appetizers, our check was brought rudely to us and there was never someone to check in and ask us if the food was alright. I will not be back and resent that they added a 20% tip in advance.

    Absolutely delicious!

Great gem on the Upper West! Loved the fried poached egg! Fantastic wine list that is both informative and carefully selected.
