Very good food, service needs work

Went for brunch Terrific soups (we tried the gazpacho and broccoli soup), excellent croque madam and eggs Norwegian (like Benedict but with smoked salmon). The main dishes came with delicious fried potatoes and salad. Service was friendly but not efficient.

    Absolutely fabulous!

Highly recommend! Had lunch on price fixe menus for 10 and another day for 2! Delicious melt in your mouth tender tangine beef and chicken. Beet salad appetizer a must every time. Well spaced tables, good service that did not rush us out. Wonderful!

    Truly exceptional

This bistro outpost of the superb Lamazou shop continues with the same tradition of the highest quality preparation of the highest quality ingredients, presented by gracious hosts. We had the beef tagine - melting off the bone short rib meat elegantly infused with wonderful flavors, merguez sandwich which was out of this world, with crisp vegetables to balance the spicy sausage on the freshest of ciabatta rolls, fabulous mussels in white wine sauce with perfect frites, elegant seafood soup, and a true molten chocolate cake accompanied by simply the most delicious vanilla gelato I've ever had. If you know how to order, you can have a bargain meal, and even the pricier items, when you recognize the quality, are extremely good values. A meal to be savored.

    Total disappointment

Restaurant was pracitically empty - yet the service was horrendous. Wait staff sat at table conversing with staff/freinds - took 20 minutes to ask us if we would like to order. Mistakes were made taking the order and when we pointed this out as the food arrived - the waitress shrugged and said - thats what I heard you order. Portions were tiny but prices are high. Strange orange neon lighting permeates the restaurant and by the end of the meal we found the color annoying.

    Best lunch in the world

This was the most delicious lunch of my life. Well worth the price - although high.

    Wow!!

Yesterday had gals dinner with work friends...and were all WOWED by the ambiance, menu variety and taste of food. Rare and lovely was a low noise level in this restaurant where there is plenty of space between tables. We shared a large number of appetizers and each had our own beet salad (delish). The cheese sampler was awesome, also the Mediterranean sampler, the Tunisean brick was stuffed with duck wonderful, as was the chicken pastille. A few other appetizers were not as memorable but we enjoyed our first Tunesian wine and left with plans to go back again soon.

    Fantastic in every way

I've been a longtime customer of the Lamazou cheese shop, and I was ecstatic when the owners opened this restaurant. I've been four times now and every meal I've had -- brunch, drinks and apps, and dinner -- has been amazing. The croque madame is the best I've ever had (and those herbed potatoes on the side are seriously addictive) and the cheese and charcuterie plate is ridiculously generous and delicious. I also love the chicken pastilla and the beet salad... (The only miss was the fondue, which is weird considering the owners' background in cheese.) The design of the space is a little over the top, but it's so open and airy and the high ceilings mean you can actually hear your dinner date talk. And that's a rare thing in NYC these days. Go now, and go often.
