average food at recently raised prices

i live nearby and had ordered from them several times due to there in-expensive fair, recently they have raised their prices but there sometimes salty and usually greasy food is not worth the bumped up prices, i can't help but feel that due to the changing neighborhood the proprietors decided to cash in with no qualms about changing there bland and generally poor menu.

    get the catfish sandwhich!

I've been here 4 times. I have only had the catfish sandwhich because in my opinion, there is no way one restuarant can make all of the items on their menu to perfection. Its had to screw up a sandwhich and I have to say, it is pretty yummy. SP fries are good too.

    I should've gone elsewhere.

I hadn't been here before, and I wanted something new. I saw that they had crab cakes, and being that it was lunch, decided on the crab cake sandwich. I called and ordered, paid with my credit card, and that process was pleasant and efficient. Almost exactly an hour later, as I was getting ready to call about where my food was, the delivery came. The delivery guy was pleasant, not talkative and just did his job. That was fine. The food looked great and I was excited to eat. I also got a salad, which I didn't know came with. I bit into my crab cake sandwich, happily, only to bite into a pile of eggshells. That is so very unpleasant. I spit out my bite, and tried to keep eating anyway. It was inedibly salty to me. Besides that, it came on a straight-out-of-the-bag bun that wasn't toasted or warmed. I will say that I ordered a side of bacon which was plentiful and perfectly cooked. But I probably won't come back because of that crab cake.

    Tasty Option!

I have ordered from Bistro Lafayette several times and have, overall, had a wonderful experience with them. I recommend the jerked chicken. At 10 bucks you get half a chicken and two sides, which is a pretty good deal. The chicken was very tender and well spiced. The scalloped potatoes are excellent. Other than the jerked chicken dish, I have ordered pasta (which is good) and the steak burrito. The burrito is good enough that I have ordered it more than once, but is by no means a fantastic of especially authentic burrito. With the variety of choices on the menu and the fact that they deliver and accept credit cards, Bistro Lafayette is convenient and the food does not disappoint.
