This place was great! A group of us just happened to stop in for a quick bite to eat and ended up having a wonderful experience. The food was delicious (I used to live in France so I know bistro food) and the service friendly. They treated us like regulars almost immediately, which doesn't always happen in NYC. The moules were great, sole was very good and salad frisee perfect. My friend had a hamburger that he said was easily one of the best in town - and he's a native New Yorker. It's noisy, but that's what bistros are supposed to be. Two tables had young kids, so I think it's probably a place a lot of upper west side families frequent. I also noticed a couple in a booth that were just sitting and talking for quite some time after their meal. They sure don't rush you out when you're finished eating! Very nice! I look forward to going back to this place, even if I'm just stopping by for a drink.

Very noisy ... thought food quality was below par.

The food is great, people are cool on some days, the staff works magic except for the host who is too pushy and just with no class. I guess when you own the joint you can do what you want. kudos to yhe cheff always top notch food if you like to endulge yourself in great tastes.

My visit to Bistro Citron was AWFUL. I expected it to be wonderful since it appears to be the sister of Bistro Cassis down on 71st and Columbus where I have previously had a GREAT GREAT experience. How wrong I was. Since I ordered the croque monsieur, I expected ham and cheese on TOASTED BRIOCHE. Not only was my sandwich NOT on brioche (it was on what seemed to be just plain ole wheat bread) but it was not toasted. To add insult to injury, the entire sandwich had been microwaved! I only figured this out when the bread eventually developed that hard and inedible consistency that microwaved bread is famous for. That odd consistency is actually the dissipating life-force and break down of microorganisms that give the food vitality and nutrients. This was absolutely shocking and an insult to anyone who simply expects a good sandwich (despite the obvious expectation of an actual croque monsieur). This was also very precarious and irresponsible as this establishment took a very big risk serving a customer microwaved food without knowing the long term consequences of this non-culinary method of ruining food.

Gotta say, I rarely post here but felt these guys deserved a nod. 2 brunches in the last month, both fantastic. Great food, warm service, baby friendly. Will definitely be back!

Talk about a pleasant surprise! Living on the Upper West Side its like restaurant hell in terms of quality... This is the first restaurant where both my husband and I left very happy. I had the Steak-frites w Bearnease.. out of this world like a real steakhouse.. He had the Escargots and the Mussells (moule frittes) unbelievable.. this is truly an Upper West Side Gem!

I came here on a beautiful weekday evening. Although all the tables outside were taken, the staff courteously sat us within minutes. They waitstaff and host were more than helpful, and friendly. We had a lovely chat with them, and they gave us their best recommendations. They checked in every now and then and did not rush us at all. The appetizer was simply presented, and the entrees were savory and perfect to satisfy a discerning palate. I had the grilled perch. It arrived perfectly cooked, and tender. They have basic French staples, and its a good reliable place for locals or for those who venture uptown!
