So excited to go..so disappointed!
I went with my dear friends and having read reviews ...could not wait to go! Fiirst to arrive...they seated me...I ordered a drink...and then they told me the table was reserved and I would have to move. Not even an apology or offer to buy drink. Macaroni and cheese with truffles unbelievably delicious! Tuna burger unappetizing. Cheese plate felt like a fast food chain and not French restaurant. Chocolate in dessert was incredibly acidic and not at all appealing. I will never go to nor recomend this restaurant to anyone. So sad.

A perfect after work experience!
I just love going here after work with co-workers or meeting friends there. It’s a chill environment with hospitable staff, mouthwatering food and a flowing bar. ~Perhaps tonight!~

Not worth the money
Good salads. Expensive cocktails--$15 for a small drink, though, prepared well. Main dishes are not large portions and cost from $27 to $32. The food needs salt, pepper, and some kind of seasoning. Noisy even when 2/3 fill. Bread is served nicely but needs a good-tasting crust.

Best Burger in UES
Bistro Chat Noir is the place to go! I just fell in the door and the staff was adorable. Classics plus plus! Great wines by the glass, perfect place for romantic get away.

neighborhood gem
Bistro Chat Noir is a wonderfully cozy, always dependable neighborhood boite. I know I can always stop in with a friend or a date and have a cozy, delicious meal. Some nights it is busier, and there are a few less "cozy" tables - like the island tables for two in the middle - but I have only ever had this table once when nothing else was available. The steak tartare is always great, and the lobster salad is always a treat. For mains - love the artichoke ravioli and anything with steak. They do a great job - staff is so friendly and the gracious blonde woman who (I think?) is the owner always makes us feel so welcome. Families seem as comfortable here as the younger couples on dates or the classy older UES folks. Love it and am so glad to have it in walking distance!

Disappointing Experience
I recently went to Bistro Chat Noir as part of a party of six. I expected to have a nice dinner and to be able to have a conversation, and this seemed like a place where I'd be able to do so. Instead, a group of about 20 people next to us were having a raucous birthday party, making it virtually impossible for us to hear anything. When we finally complained to the restaurant staff, they said there was nothing they could do. Just letting you know what you are potentially letting yourself in for at this restaurant.

Beautiful
We are so grateful this restaurant opened in our neighborhood. The decor is fabulous and so was the service. Loved it!
