    used to be good

overpriced. wine-- 14 dollars a glass for an exercise in mediocrity. food - nothing much fine about it. service? the busboy was nice- the waiter was haughty and knew nothing about french cuisine. the only thing french about the place was the decor and the name.

    Pricey, and poor service

This restaurant was categorized as moderately priced. It was actually very pricey. The waiter was grumpy and ungracious. . The wine selection was poor. The decor was okay and the food wasn't bad, but not worth those high prices. They ran out of deserts very early on. The only good thing I can say about them is that they quoted the prices of the specials up front - just as well since they were over $40's for an entree. When my husband complained that his wine tasted sour, the waiter practically stuck his nose into it and claimed that it was OK. I will not go back there again.

    You deserve better

Poor service. Could not be worse. Food ok, not bad, but not good enough. Poor value. Need I say more.

    Used to be Good

Although the service was always questionable (and a very rigid chef), the food used to be excellent, and relatively good value for the quality of cooking. On our recent visits, however, the food has gone dramatically down, while the price has gone up.

    Great neighborhood bistro

I have been living in the neighborhood for many years but just discovered this little gem of a french bistro. The mussles were great but quite frankly I was a bit disappointed that I had to pay extra for the frites, which are customarily an included side accompaniment at most french bistros. Aside from the gum-chewing waitress, the service was fine and the food very good. I have taken friends there twice and am going again tonight.

    Great discovery!

I walked by Cassis after the restaurant I was planning to go to was booked up. It's really charming. Excellent food (lamb shank perfectly prepared), wonderful service and very reasonable price for the quality. I will be going back. Highly recommended. New York City does it again!

    Great French Bistro!

This little gem surpassed all expectations for culinary excellence, service, value and ambiance. It's one restaurant in NYC I will return to time and time again.
