Coffee Only
Just ordered the Chicken sandwich from Birch after really, really enjoying their coffee several times. For a sandwich that ended up being about 11 bucks with tax, it was not at all up to par: Almost no hummus (as advertised), small amount of chicken that didn't cover the bread and that was about it. Bread was also not cut in half, which just seems lazy. Really dissappointed (and feel ripped off) and will not be ordering food there again.

Deelish Salad and Tea
I love Birch Coffee, and I bring friends and some of the cooler business associates there. I dig the salads and the tea. And the management blows my mind with all of its creative endeavors in the space, including (optional) meditation upstairs, a library, the works. It's a cool place in a neighborhood that lacks cool places.

An Oasis
I love Birch! They have organic fair trade coffee which is roasted and brewed to perfection. The coffee is excellent. It's just how I like it not acidic or bitter its the perfect cup of fine brewed coffee which needs no milk to mask it's amazing flavor. It's very alkaline and true low acid brew. Birch also has some unique tea blends that are definately estate quality. I am a regular by now at this cozy neighborhood spot. I live in Kips Bay and work in Soho. I daily walk over passed the many starbucks and other subpar coffee spots along the way to get an americano from Birch before I get on the train to go to work. It's turned out to be a ritual that I have repeated with great satisfaction. Moving on to the food! The beet salad is my favorite I also love the humus plate. I have eaten almost everything on the menu by now and it's all delicious high quality refined quisine. Even the most simple dish explodes with originality and great taiste. It's rare to find such quality at such a reasonable price. The owners Jeremy and Paul are great hosts and have created a very comfortable destination to catch your breath. There is a weekly meditation meeting that they host in there library at 12:00pm Monday through Friday. I went last week and really enjoyed it. Meditation is an important part of my life and it is nice to meet with others and share in this gift. It was a great experience. It's so wonderful to know that in the midst of the hustle and bustle of my life I can sometimes take a break at birch and it is something that I look forward to repeating over and over again. There are some really interesting events that happen at birch. Like movie nights and drawing parties. Birch is a creative haven. There is no place like Birch anywhere in the city. Birch is truly a special place. I really love this place. Hope you will too. Sincerely, John Prada

Best lil coffee shop in manhattan
well, i only have one complaint about this place, i wish it was next door...other than that, it has the coolest atmosphere, if you are planning on hanging around for a lil while, the upstairs library is super cool. but now i need to talk about the food. there is this s'mores muffin that is to die for! and i know grilled cheeses are what they are, but there is something in theres, like crack deliciousness! and yes, coffee is also yummy there, though i've become a tea drinker lately. hmm, what else, could ya'll open one on astor?

Best New Spot in Town
Great coffee, AMAZING grilled cheese sandwiches and the comfiest library/lounge space in all of Manhattan. The service is great, the couches are comfy and the wifi is strong. They also have lemon bars, brownies and butter cookies that all taste like your favorite grandma's recipe. I esp like Trance Thursdays when the music is perfect for getting you inspired to write that novel! Or at least to read one from their collection. I will be a regular here.

Best Cup of Coffee in NYC!
By far the best cup of coffee in town! Being an Italian-American and truly appreciating good espresso I savored each sip of the frothy, creamy, rich latte I had the pleasure of consuming. With that I enjoyed a biscuit sandwich with turkey sausage and a brownie...yum! Whereas the coffee transported me to Europe and the organic and local food reminded me of farm living the atmosphere was Brooklyn sheik. By the time I left I felt like I had traveled the world with my senses! Horray for Birch Coffee!

Im a fan!
It's about time! Welcome to the neighborhood Birch! Stumbled upon this spot while taking my pooch to the park over the weekend. Super nice service and everything was delicious. The coffee is outstanding. Hands down the nicest spot in the hood for a little caffeinated reprieve. Can't wait for them to deliver!
