Having moved back to the city recently from 14 years in the burbs, we discovered Nick's after a friend told us about it. We think they probably have the best burgers on the Westside, if not the whole city. I've never seen as big a selection of burgers as Nicks. As much as the atmosphere leaves something to be desired it has that greasy spoon charm. Also tried Big Nick's on 71st and Columbus, and doesn't compare. I want to try the pizza, but i keep going back for the burgers.

My father found this place years ago before I moved here. It is now my favorite place to eat at any hour! Huge menu with everything you can imagine. I always treat my out of town guests to what I concider the best burgers and fries in the city. So far everyone I take loves it and wants to go back when they are in town. Cheap and tasty food for even the pickest of eaters...they really have everything! And if they dont, they are ver accomidating to your needs. Enjoy!!

I venture to Big Nick's a few times a month just for the waffle fries. They're spicy with just the right amount of crunch, but overpriced and served in a much too small portion. The rest of Big Nick's is okay. Nothing fantastic. The quesadillas are made with pita bread instead of tortillas, so that's something to make Mexican food connoisseurs cringe. (They're inauthentic, but pretty tasty). I appreciate the not-trying-too-hard atmosphere on some days, but don't recommend Big Nick's to anyone looking for an "experience" or great service.

Best Pizza on the Upper West Side and the rest is pretty good, too. Try the regular cheese pizza -- it's better without a lot of the ingredients (many of which, e.g. mushrooms, are canned -- after all, it's pizza joint, like the name says.) But the pies here have a thin, cornmeal-dusted crust and above-average sauce, and they're always open for delivery. Eggplant parmesan sandwich is fine. You can get a Caesar or spinach salad with avocado. There's a surprising array of non-pizza items and vegetarian offerings, and a few traditional but satisfactory desserts.

This is the best spots in "NYC" bar none. With the menu ranging from Vegetarian, Italian, Breakfast and of course the Burgers. You couldn't ask for anything more. Service is always great and they make you feel like you're right at home no matter what time you happen to stop by. I don't ever post reviews but I had to show my appreciation for Big Nick's. "You won't be disappointed"
