We recently moved to the neighborhood, and have been really happy with the burgers at Big Nick's we actually feel they are one of the best in town. If you like waffle fries, pay the extra dough for them, cuz it's worth it. As far as delivery, I think another reviewer mentioned they had forgotten items, well, that just happened to me. So, I guess, check your order before letting the delivery guy leave. Otherwise, it's good food, good service when eating there, okay when food is delivered, and atmosphere of the restaurant is not good. So, for a place with such poor atmosphere be successful it HAS to have good food.

Having sat in the rear of Big Nick's I can tell you without a doubt that I will never set foot in the place again. We had a perfect view into the rear food prep area and it was disgusting. A refrigerator they store bulk meats in looked like something from Jeffrey Dahmer's kitchen and was nauseating. The menu is varied and huge and inexpensive, but the food is mediocre at best. Seems like a tourist trap to me.

The food at Big Nick's is a good value, but I'll never order from them again. The past 3 times I've ordered they have consistently fouled up my order. This last time they brought us the wrong thing and overcharged us, plus the food was soggy. When I called to complain they passed the phone around to 3 different people, and the last one finally asked me with a flippant attitude, "Well, what do you want me to do about it?" They were very rude and unhelpful, and I could actually hear them laughing when they hung up. My advice? Go to the restaurant, but don't order!

Outdoor and kinda cramped indoor dining, but what do you expect from a casual place like Big Nick's? The pizza is great, I've got my eye on those famous burgers next. Menu is huge - everything from breakfast to traditional Italian pasta dinners. Best part is that it's open 24 hours.

WOW...well my friend, a native ny-er took me here bc i wanted a great burger....and I have no complaints! It's extremely casual here and if I walked right by, I would never have noticed it...a slight hole in the wall. Although the place was pretty crowded, we were promptly seated. I got the bistro burger...took one bite and was like: WOW! LOL....it was SO good.....guyere cheese, caramelized onions, sauteed mushrooms.....another words: MAJOR YUM! I would highly reccommend this burger to anyone...and have been telling everyone!

the food and the value are great!!! i love the homey atmosphere. The only downpoint is that they sometimes are a bit slow getting your food when you order!!! otherwise best place in the upper west side!

been ordering at big nick's for delivery ever since i moved to the UWS from SoHo. just placing your order over the phone is difficult- the guy who takes it must have some sort of hearing problem as he repeatedly asks for the address and what i want. and then, after placing an order, it takes at least a minimum of 45 mins before the food gets delivered (last night i waited for an hour), considering that i only live 2 blocks away. the food? mediocre despite having a big menu. i recommend that you get the pizza, the burger or the salad. DON'T get mexican food- and don't ever get the guacamole- it's frozen. i think the quality of food at big nick's has declined over the years. and oh, i've been at the restaurant a couple of times, and don't expect good service either.
